What beer have you discovered lately (say....over the past month or two) that you're really digging?

For me, its Troegs Grand Cacao. I first tried a single of it last year and thought it was good, but in December, by chance, I picked up a sixer of it, and its become one of my new favorites. I love the chocolate flavor the beer has without being cloyingly sweet.

A new to me beer that I recently had which I really enjoyed is Weyerbacher Tiny which is a Belgian Imperial Stout; a substyle I was heretofore unaware of.

I discussed this beer in a recent NBW thread:

“The serendipity that I am referring to: I subscribe to BYO (Brew Your Own) magazine and in the latest (January – February 2022 issue) there is a clone recipe for Weyerbacher Tiny – Belgian-style Imperial Stout. In the beginning of this discussion:

“Tiny, a Belgian-style imperial stout embodies Weyerbacher’s philosophy of big, bold beers with a flavorful twist. While the craft beer world has largely gravitated toward stouts fermented with a clean-fermenting American ale yeast, leaving a window open for expressive flavoring ingredients, Tiny relies on the fruity esters of a Belgian yeast strain for its nuance. The result is a smoother, fruitier imperial stout that lacks astringency but still packs a big punch of flavor, with rounded stone-fruit and chocolate notes conjured by fermentation and a careful selection of dark malts. Perfecting this recipe will remind brewers of how much can be achieved by simply respecting the power of yeast itself.”

Just had my first Richefort 10 in about 2 years. Not sure why I haven’t revisited sooner. Will keep it in the rotation for a while.

It's a toss up between Roaring Table's (Lake Zurich, IL) German Pils and Czech Pale Lager.

I could squeeze their Festbier in there too, but I think I'd be pushing the two month limit (even though I still have some left ).

KBS Espresso. Bitter dark-roast coffee, lots of char, and big notes of molasses and licorice without too much sweetness. Goes down way too easily for a 12% beer. I love it when a plan comes together, and this one sure did.

Augustiner edelstoff has really impressed me. I really wish I could find augustiner Lager bier in the USA.

The beer that caught me by surprise over the last couple of months was Green Cheek's Smooth Is Fast, a pilsner. It's what I enjoy in my beers. I don't need a ton of hops in a beer to get my attention. This one was a crisp, refreshing, easy drinking and well crafted pils that I'll certainly be buying more of if they brew it again.

Abraxas. Warming notes of chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and ancho peppers. I love peppers but I don't like foods too spicy, and I don't want ANY pepper heat in my beer but the anchos combined with the cacao and cinnamon provide a smoothing depth that is other-worldly.

Jack's Abby "Lagers of the World: Estonia" (Imperial Rye Baltic Porter) is phenomenal. The runner-up is Five Boroughs Brewing "Malt Overboard" (Dark Lager).

I don't know if I can name one particular new favorite beer, but since I moved to Colorado my new favorite type of beer is the ultra modern interpretation of West Coast IPAs I've tried from TRVE, Little Machine, and Beachwood. They're less bitter than old-school IPAs but are much drier and I like it a lot.

Great Lakes Christmas ale really hit the spot this year. I've had it before but I guess my tastes have changed to appreciate it even more

Radeberger Zwickel, 5.0% - so delicious - I highly recommend this one! Part of my holiday lineup - unbeatable for $8 a 6-pack of 16 oz. cans. Will definitely be a repeat purchase. Prost! :beers:

I'd heard of them for a year or so and finally stopped in. It's the go-to place to meet a couple old friends every month or so. Brewing some good stuff.

This is the second most-consumed beer of 2021 for me. It is outstanding.
Mine is from Dec 2020. It showed up again at a local supermarket. It is surprisingly still very good.
