Hop Butcher (2022)

Really dug Champagne Shores - drank my magnum with friends last night. Thought it was weird how different the cans were from the bottle (and draft) though. Didn't taste much difference, but one was hazy and one was crystal clear.

 

Have they said anything about Galaxy Bowl recently? I love that they've really been churning a variety of beers out, but man, that's one I'm always craving.

 

Peanut butter, chocolate & coffee stout this week. My dentist texted me & said not to drink it.

 

It NEVER comes up from them these days.

The last few batches haven't been so magical...possibly they aren't getting the same quality of galaxy hops anymore?

 

split a can of coffee bear and its pretty damn good. really enjoy this pickup. coffee comes out more and more as it warms and definitely helps with the sweetness.

 

Good to hear! Gonna crack a can for Ghostbusters Afterlife later tonight.

Coffee Bear was excellent however and takes the edge off the teeth melting sweetness of Fat Bear.

 

So it’ll give me hope until the follow up (chapter? sequel?) comes out?

 

Where is the best place to find these guys in Chitown.

 

I suggest bottles and cans if you are on the northside. They usually get a fair amount, and you can buy single cans. I think I saw 4-5 HB varieties when I was there on Thursday.

Beer on central in Evanston also seems to get HB regularly and the beers stay around longer than shops in the city.

 

I find they actually last longer at Binny's than most bottle shops.

But...depends where you'll be. Any above average bottle shop will have their beer at this point, but sometimes they go quick. This last drop of Meet The Mosaics went super fast since they took a small Xmas break from brewing, creating a bit more demand when they started back up.

Spoke to a guy in the neighborhood...apparently the Hop Butcher crew has been at the old Half Acre spot. Hopefully that means the Death Star will be fully operational soon!!

 

Staying in River North in a couple weeks. Any ideas?

Centennial in River North typically has 4-6 recent cans of theirs for onsite drinking. Usually a few on draft too. You may be able to still buy singles of them to go.

 

Agree meet the mosaics is delicious , very dank and not too sweet. Meet the Nelsons was great as well , I’m hoping they release more hop varietals in this series. Well except meet the sabros
