Other Half BA Bananaversary was fabulous. Version one with several months on it, anyway. B2 wasn’t close. BL Mass Action was also very good. I don’t go looking for bananas typically.

 

Nanners and nilla from narrow gauge was fantastic, albeit a totally different kind of beer.

 

i enjoyed Brooklyn Vibes, but the banana dominated the coconut, which is a let down itself, and the whole time i was drinking it i was wishing i was drinking a Coconut Vibes instead.

 

Prop 17 was solid fresh. But otherwise, yeah...

 

Maybe I just haven’t had the right beer, but every one I’ve tried that has banana in it tastes like that fake Laffy Taffy flavor. Just can’t get into it

 

It's so hard to get banana right. Prop 17 is probably one of the few that did (for me).

 

i get banana runts. banana in stouts must bring out childhood scarring.

 

I may be wrong, but I think it's because the type of banana they need to use to impart banana flavor is more intense than your typical grocery cavendish. I don't think cavendish does a whole lot to beer when all is said and done, besides thicken it--at least in my experience. I usually find it in smoothie style fruited sours, and despite using a ton of it, it barely makes an impression.

 

Ever try to Juice a Banana?

Opened one last Saturday. I enjoyed it a lot.

 

When maman drops definitely seek it out. It's a great beer. All of us locals are jaded when it comes to BA stouts. We've had them so many times nothing lives up to the first couple times.

 

I may have enjoyed 10th anniversary more than maman but both were really tasty.

 

I’m not the biggest banana guy either, but have tried some really good ones. The best one so far that I’ve had was from MT: chaos grind banana shake. Should give that one a try

Interested to try side projects take on it tho for sure!

Ah yes MT has made some great banana beers
