I’ll never not buy a new Sierra Nevada offering. This is pretty good!

...another new piece of vinyl for me that found its way to my Colorado doorstep while I was spending some time in southeast Pennsylvania...and don't have a Mississippi beer, but this regional favorite of mine will suffice for the musical vibe...

Field & Oak - Cherry Spontaneous 2019 Harvest.

This is from Field & Oak (Kane Brewing's wild beer program). The brett is off the charts in this one. Not much cherry, but nice acidity.

    Doing something for science...

My local still had 2021 Bigfoot on the shelf although I could see two cases of 2022 behind the 2021 6ers. I asked if he could get me the 2022 and I'd buy a 2021 too (at the same price). 2021 has been stored for a year at room temperature (70ish degrees). Not ideal cellar conditions but after a year it probably doesn't make a huge difference with this beer.

The bottom line is these are basically different beers. 2021 is much hazier, sweeter and smoother. 2022 is much more piney, bitter and sticky. Enjoying them both but prefer the 2022 even if it drinks a little harsher.

    Cheers!

YEARs ago @Beertracker Hosted a tasting at his place & if memory serves me, had about 20 different ones. The best IMHO were the newest & the oldest, which rank like a great English Barleywine

Poured from a tap. 0% ABV. This beverage pours very clear in the antique jelly jar. Neither a discernible nose nor lacing. No carbonation. Smooth drinker.

Taste follows the nose. Despite the dearth of flavor, this one is strangely satisfying and thirst quenching. Recommended.

not cross posted to this weekend’s tasting
