Transient Vanilla Kamigoye '21 (wheated Imp. Stout aged in Old Fitzgerald barrels w/ vanilla beans). Bakers chocolate, prominent fruity, earthy vanilla bean, big roasted malt, tobacco, slight dark fruit, big charred oak, vanillin from the barrel, bourbon, slight molasses, and slight caramel. Soft and slightly creamy, but thinner than I'd like. The vanilla bean is the show on this one, but, thanks to the base and barrel characteristics, this doesn't get into the "pastry stout" realm. Very nice stuff.

Dry January has become a lot more bearable over the past few years.

The McDonald and Giles Band, awful name and bad album art work. Considering Ian McDonald and Micheal Giles' both quit the original King Crimson to form this (I mean just look at the album cover for In The Court of the Crimson King, or the Poseidon cover), but that doesn't matter as Ian is just as good a song writer and Giles is one of the more underrated drummers in Rock. Oh and this guy named Steve Winwood was playing on this as well

Not quite dry January…but might as well be at 2% abv

 

Good Sunday afternoon, Advocates of Beer. Snow is forecasted tonight so we returned from a brief visit to the Shore this morning. I'm now enjoying this Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy-hopped NEIPA from BKS Artisan Ales courtesy of @Harrison8. It's earthy, piney, and spicy with a nice balance of bitter and sweet citrus. Cool can art, too. Cheers!
