Chicagoland Lagers (2022)

Thinking about a rental house on the Champaign Shores next summer. Steps from the water and the view is supposed to be fabulous.

 

Yeah, sorry about that one. At least we have confirmation that we're not the only ones this has happened to.

 

First can I opened on NYE was very hazy, but cracked one today from the same 4-pack and it is clear.

edit: and I should add I enjoy it more after it dropped clear.

 

Roaring Table Keller is one of my favorite beers. Bought a case right before Christmas and just about ready to go and re-stock.

 

Anyone know a list of stores Roaring Table distributes too? And which is the farthest south? lol

I want to try but I am not planning a trip to Lake Zurich anytime soon.

Far south side of Chicago, practically Oak Lawn.

 

Depending on how far you want to travel (and I would def. still call ahead to double check):

- Orange and Brew in Downers Grove
- The Beer and Now in Lisle
- The Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn
- Beermiscuous in Lakeview

Crafted1979 had them for a bit, but I think since the pandemic, RT's disty footprint has shrunk a little bit and they don't get down there as often/at all anymore.

 

FWIW -- They self-distribute and aren't a big brewery, so they don't go far from home.

Was heading back from my mom's house in Elmhurst and decided to stop in Sal's to see what they had. Found 2 x 4pks of Vienna Lager from Goldfinger. Huzzah!

 

More than you know! His first kid is on the way, and hear the wifey “would kill for a beer”

 

Yeah, he'd be in real trouble. If he ever came home with the beer.

 

I was blown away by Alsatian Fields, a Riverlands "French Country Lager" brewed in collaboration with Penrose.

Honeyed grain, fresh corn on the cob and a faint yeast-y funk. Absolutely delicious.

i recently discovered and have been obsessed with Dovetail Vienna lager. any other chicagoland lager recommendations i might enjoy? I got a 4 pack of Goldfinger's original lager as well thought i think i enjoyed the maltiness of the vienna better.
