Took a day off today, and readying myself for a lonely time here on WBAYDN. Drinking a Helles by Nils Oscar, watching The Eternals.

Hej! @JamFuel No way you’ll be left alone here even a Monday.

Got a phone call from the garage/car dealer late last week, suggesting me to replace my timing belt, on my car which has 40,000km. I got the replacement estimate which was 670€. Thanks but no thanks, called them back this noon to say I’m not interested and have other expense to deal with.

Seriously are all car dealer/mechanics still crook? Some things just never change.

    The Stonewall Inn IPA.

    Cheers all!

    Not a random movie scene:

The Return Of Super Saison by Stockholm Brewing. These guys are highly regarded for their barrel aged stuff.

Well, hopefully things will begin to get luckier, as the lone SWA direct flight to Vegas from O’Hare was cancelled late in the evening (glad I checked before bed).

Was auto dumped on a later flight with stops arriving mid evening, but just changed it to a direct flight out of Midway, which will add an hour plus of local travel, but save hours of grief and time on a plane. Meh.

Remmarlöv is a damn solid local brewery, really excelling at more traditional styles.

Mariestads Export is the second bestselling beer in Sweden. Typical macro lager, but it’s not bad. Solidly made, if a little bland.

You drink more beers than I do at all.

Skål, that’s the point of days off after all.

    Lindemans Framboise (Raspberry).

I have opened this one only for missus as I don’t dig this a lot. I’ll have a few sip then it’s on her.

This is my second favorite beer of all time, after Heady Topper. It's kinda funny that these two are made next door to each other. What an amazingly satisfying beer. Smokey but not too smokey. Roasty but not too roasty. I wish it wasn't a seasonal but a year-round. Sure, its flavor profile is best suited for cold weather but I think it would drink nicely in warmer weather too.

It's good beer season as far as I'm concerned, great big Impy stouts should be plentiful now, but struggling to find the Nat'l brands, no Ten-Fidy, no Yeti, no Ivan the Terrible! This is good and local......Buckledown's Magnificent! [IMG]
.....most of January is gone, only 6" of snow this year, I'm not complaining. Enjoy what's in yer glass, can, bottle or whatever!
