Not sure if it's related but the last 2 all Nelson brews I've had (Nelson Baby! and Moonrakers All the Nelsons) have been incredibly one dimensional in the diesel spectrum. No white grapes, gooseberries or dank. It was so much so the brews were offputting.

Nelson came through much better for my preferences in the Slice Fu! brew, but there's a boat-load of other hops in that recipe.

I thought it was okay to okie dokie too. Nothing like their Just One Thing, Nelson! But that’s not a westy.

    I’m feeling a weedy/skunkish taste. Fresh.

speaking of Beachwood...they've got some bangin new WCIPAs. The Laminar Flow is pretty good, but the Hoptangle, the new can release, is just a stunning showcase. I *highly* recommend grabbing as much as you can

huh, I thought it was pretty spectacular. As good or better than I was hoping. Been awhile since I've had a clear nelson IPA, and I love the white grape/"gooseberry" flavor it has. Third nelson beer I've had recently (muntz, wild gooseberry chase, green cheek) that's been a home run. I figured there must be a new batch of nelson hops that's just fuego.

Oh I thought it was good. Just not that WOW in your face Nelson. I think in a week or 2 the weel-like taste will give way to a much cleaner Nelson taste. It'll be better then. For me at least. Other may like what they taste in Cheeky's latest westy Nelson can. I felt the same when I had it at the source last week Friday when it tapped there. But I still picked up a 4pk to go.

NPBC/Slice's Slice Fu! is fantastic. Wish it wasn't so limited.

Daddy Chill from Urban Roots is my first foray into the "cold IPA" (aka hoppy steam beer) realm for me and it delivers everything I want out of an ipl.

Great aromatics that carry over into the flavor, malt presence in the flavor with a super light body. Great stuff

Only one i've had is from Cheeky, solid. The other day i did pass on a pack from Wayfinder, wasn't quite as fresh as I like.
Side note, word on the street is Beachwood to release tipa hops of fury this week

Really not liking this Beachwood Hoptangle. It just tastes weird (not in a skunky way, just not a fan of the “new varietal hops”). And that’s pretty much all I got.

Fresh batch of Eppig Nightlife IPA, all Nelson-y greatness. It is fantastic. Kiwi/honeydew, with a hint of Sav Blanc.

Pizza Port Open Itinerary is one of the best they've done in recent years.

After the 1st can which I thought was just okay I gave a can to my bro in law. Took 1 can to Kona and drank there which I thought was much better than the 3 days fresh can. Got one can left for this weekend. I just might have to grab another 4pk along with Hops Of Fury when I hit up BWHB today after work. Yup I think I'll can handle a 4pk of HoF.

On a side note, my bro in law shot me a photo of Pizza Port Open Itinerary Costco Irvine. Look like there were several cases sitting there. A case is too much for me. A 4pk is good enough.

Very solid beer. Not life changing like seeing Beyoncé in daisy dukes, but just straight up good.

Finally made it to visit ghost town. The Laurel location is super pleasant and all out door. Incidental Mortality to start it out. I love the way their westies bring a solid bitter punch wrapped up in a full and soft mouthfeel. Good chit. Good chit indeed

New Pizzaport collab called Cali to the Valley- didn't enjoy at all and I usually like to love their IPA's, something wasn't working for my taste on that one. Also landed new Karl Strauss/Burgeon collab called Bohemian Groove and it is fabulous.
