I’ve had missed bottles in the past, mysteriously the rarer ones, but Tavour always refunded or replaced when possible, and generally speaking most of the time it’s been a good experience for me… until today. My crate that I had been building for months was “delivered and signed for” today. The only problem is one of the two boxes was delivered to my neighbors house and was never signed for, left out in the 9 degree weather. Thankfully the neighbor happened to come home for lunch and saw this! The other, when asked the delivery service about it, was then updated to show it was back with them, followed shortly by an email saying the package was damaged and was undeliverable. This box had about 80% of the order and all of the nice bottles. I sent an email to Tavour explaining all of this, including a picture of what I did receive and a list of everything that was missing. As of now I have not heard back yet… the wait begins! Depending how they handle this I might be done with them
I did reload the app a few weeks ago just to watch what went across my feed. A few interesting things but the prices again are why I have never made a purchase and won’t. After reading too many stories of poor deliveries and the such I would never make a purchase. Good luck to everyone. Rather take my chances waking into a shop and making a random purchase. Enjoy
If you're in California; Disregard horror stories. I ordered a buncha shit and after i closed they used GLS and it was at.my door in 2 days after closing. GLS is a well regarded carrier here. Mind you, i only used it once cuz i felt like a fucking fool paying the price i did for the worst stouts i have had in my life and mediocre IPAs and Lagers ( stuff i would never get but felt pressure cuz i wanted more beer in my crate) . Tl;Dr California is on point , from my 1 and done purchase, and it was 5/5 service for me. In my opinion , they are thieves and deserve to burn. If i lived in a land locked state that had shit beer though, id prolly use them.
See, gls is our local carrier as well and they eat ass. My last lost crate was on GLS end, and when I called and asked they said that the crate never made it to them. Meanwhile Tavour was telling me not only was the package in the possession of gls but it was out for delivery. Somehow GLS was wrong and Tavour was right. How the hell was TAVOUR right?
GLS guys are seedy so i wouldnt put it past them to know anything from Tavour us beer and them stealing it
For those having trouble: I hope it works out in the end. For Tavour: I have no idea the national logistics of shipping a dangerous, subversive, terrible product like beer, but they need to sort out this local shipping angle. While it certainly sounds like Tavour has sinned in the customer service arena more than once, a lot of the complaints are about delivery. The only complaint I've had (knock on wood) is the crappy local delivery service in my area, but thankfully Tavour has since changed to another carrier that appears to be a real business. Seems like if they sort the delivery nonsense there would be a lot less unhappy customers.
Agree with all of the above. I really hope these folks get satisfaction. My local carriers, now ups, have been fine. Tavour has always been prompt in their responses to me. As for price, well, I live in Pennsylvania, the land of outstanding distribution and very high prices. I can drive four hours to the beach and get beer from breweries 30 minutes from my house for less money. It isn't uncommon for Tavour to offer beer for less than I can get it for locally. Plus there just aren't enough barleywines around here.
The saga continues... One of the two boxes in my shipment arrived at my home today. All bottles appear intact, although I do wonder where this box has been sitting throughout the past month. I took video opening the box and documenting every single bottle that was included, just to be safe. As far as the second box... I called the local courier service. They have been great and responsive throughout the process. They assure me that they only received one of the boxes, and that they agree there is still a box outstanding for me. They told me "some of the boxes arrived damaged and Tavour would be reaching out about those" and also that there was still a couple more pallets of boxes yet to arrive. Which group might my second box fall in? Only time will tell. The tracking information on the Tavour app simply cannot be trusted. My crate closed Dec 27 and was supposedly shipped Dec 29. The app actually said it left Tavour on Dec 29 for nearly a week, and then suddenly it changed to say it left Tavour on Jan 5. The app also says my boxes arrived at the local delivery service on Jan 20, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that is wrong, and that they actually received my first box just last night on Jan 26, based on the multiple conversations I have had with the very kind people who work there. Also, my emails to Tavour last week and earlier this week have still gone unanswered.
Shipping logistics are tough in the best of times. There's absolutely no excuse for lack of communication though. Sorry to hear your troubles.
It sucks that Tavour doesn't take any responsibility for any of this. I understand they have to use local couriers, and that some of these mistakes are the fault of local couriers, but it sucks that Tavour doesn't even communicate with costumers. FWIW, I was impressed with my latest order, but there are enough horror stories here that I may be deleting my account soon. The prospect of them adding beers to my crate and billing me to remove them outweighs the small chance they upload ADWTD TO.
When you call you get a message that directs you to use their customer service email "for faster service", but it does then give an option for leaving a VM. Several months ago I left a VM on a separate issue and they ended up replying to the email, so I don't think I have ever actually talked to anybody there. I could layer a VM on top of my outstanding emails, I suppose...
Last year when I had issues they actually had people you could talk to, apparently no longer On a positive note the follow feature on the updated app seems to you cause your favorite breweries to always show up in your feed I think
If you're ever in Denver let me buy you a beer. I'm still laughing. Also obligatory Snape meme. You dare use my spells agai st me?
I called as well. Left a voice mail. They never called back. My first lost crate experience Tavour was very transparent and helpful. It seems as time goes by they have stopped.
Once again I have to give credit to tavour, took an extra day but they emailed back and the refunds are already hitting the card! Still bummed I didn’t get some of the bottles but they took care of the issue no questions asked
Another perfect shipment arrived. This time I was surprised that GLS just dropped off the box when I wasn't home. They ALWAYS need a signature. I guess they know me now....
