Guys guys, clearly I was not that wealthy at that time, drinking Presidente.

If I had amassed my fortune by then, I would have been served Westvleteren 12 in gold rimmed chalices.

It’s being ironic and drinking the Presidente the more wealthy thing to do.

I mean, he does live in Somerville, a hipster hive of the Boston area, so I think he does irony.

And no one has asked how much Presidente...

No dog in the fight, but why are you reporting on New England and Northeast drink places if you live in the British Virgin Islands?

I've been to St John three times, and Sierra Nevada was the best beer to be found there.

It's often the best beer found most places. Sierra Nevada is dope.

Yeah, if hoppy beers like IPAs are your thing.

I still remember the 'good ol' days' when Sierra Nevada would produce seasonal variety packs with beer styles like Vienna Lager, Brown Ale, Kolsch,...

Unfortunately those days a 'long gone'. :slight_frown:

    Cheers!

Brown ale? I thought all brown ale drinkers had passed or were in nursing homes at this point.

How recently? I was just in St John (and St Thomas) for the first time last week. While the contract-brewed bottled stuff by St Johns Brewers was very meh, I am happy to report the stuff being brewed by Leatherback Brewing out of St Croix (and a taproom in St Thomas) was pretty tasty. And the nanobrewery Frenchtown Brewing on St Thomas had very solid beers, but their beer is only available draft only in a handful of bars besides crowlers at their tiny brewery.

It's been a while. 2015? I really don't remember. We did a couple of hours on St Thomas the first time we were there, but that was enough St Thomas for one lifetime. Good to hear that the beer scene has improved (and agree about St John Brewers.)

And lucky you. Picked a nice time to escape the cold!

Agreed. 15 years ago most breweries had a brown ale. I don't understand what happened.

Consumers said we only want NEIPAs and breweries, including SN, said OK, we'll follow the numbers.

I love a good brown ale. Would love to see more breweries make them, but in a committed way, not a check the boxes way. I'm also with @JackHorzempa on SN as far as their current portfolio vs their past. They still make good beers obviously (SNPA is a classic) but the diversity of styles has eroded and we shouldn't be ignorant of that fact. I'm not going to praise SN for heading towards monotony. They're certainly not "dope."
