I know that B.United famously uses refrigerated tankers to transport bulk beer, but does anyone know if they also have reefer containers for transporting packaged beer across the sea?

Given that I learn from here of the recovery of exports (unfortunately here, the bad news of the week is that AbInbev will send home 40 workers of Birra del Borgo, brands that passed to industry in 2009, as it will close premises and former first Collerosso brewery, to centralize production and - probably - bet everything on Lisa, already heavily exported to the UK but, again, which is not to be confused with craft beer) and that I'm obviously pleased that our most famous craft beer in the world can return to circulate even in very distant shores, I wanted to clarify / confirm that the export actually stopped at the end of 2020, to due to new customs regulations in the region of the Italian brewery, which required that the product should leave already bottled, packaged and labeled.
(Here the official press release which I imagine is easy to machine translation, I don't know, I don't have it, this stuff: https://www.facebook.com/birrificio...uZkG42tKeIIyWjNyw65c4Bm3PN5ST3AD5lj78NpFFcqIw ).

Look, I'm not a sommelier but the banana to taste it you have to go and look for it ...
At best, the honeyy note may recall a hint of banana but it is certainly not what characterizes beer.
Rather, a masterpiece of malt grist and a pungent herbaceous note that ends in a dry bitterness: hints of cereal remain on the palate, a distinct and balanced bitter note on the tongue.

I hope that a product will arrive at the height, even if in addition to our craft "flagship", many beers from small or micro breweries that make masterpieces with typical products of the ground but which remain excluded from these markets should also deserve to be promoted because obviously penalized by production of limited quantities and high production costs (including very high taxes and to be paid in advance on each batch).

Anyway, I drank it recently, bottled at the end of November ... always in excellent shape ...
    Look at the foam...

Here's the post from Birrificio Italiano (Dec. 22nd), which indicates that Tipopils is "already infused and bottled"

Yeah, pretty unusual to see a keg labeled as the property of the importer rather than the brewery. But I suppose since the keg label (unlike the old bottle labels) didn't mention the bulk shipping/repackaging in the US I guess they can use the same label.

It’s possible the banana comes from Isoamyl acetate ester. If you’ve had coors banquet, youay have noticed it before

Up today in B. United's online store. Their online price doesn't “undercut our retail partners” so likely to be about the same price in stores.

So, a base price of $24 for a four-pack. That was pretty much as expected.

And if you choose to order directly from B. United:

    “Shipping

    12 unit minimum per order

    $12 shipping rate per 24 (or less) unit case. i.e. 12-24 units, 1 case : $12 shipping rate; 25-48 units, 2 cases : $24 shipping rate ($12x2); etc.”

For the minimum order of 12 bottles the cost would be $72 for the beer plus $12 shipping = $84.

Yup, this is a beer for folks who have plenty of ‘spare’ money on hand.

I suppose folks should order now before inflation raises these high prices into the stratosphere (or is it mesosphere?).

    Cheers!

I have been wanting to try Tipopils. I love dry hopped pilsner. I am visiting Italy in June. Does anyone know how readily available it is throughout Italy, especially Rome? Maybe I'll just wait instead of trying to sniff some out around here.

@Jack_14 who lives in Italy recently posted in a thread in the European forum, maybe he'll know if Tipopils is easy to find around Rome. Jack?

The answer to this question is "yes, if you are looking in the right place".
In the sense that it is not found in classic bars nor in supermarkets or foodstuffs that use large-scale distribution.
However, it is easy to find in beershops and pubs that serve bottles.
Basically in specialized shops / local, as happens for the whole craft sector in these parts.
It's also found on tap in pubs of course, but with unpredictable rotation to check at the moment...

Anyway, dear @ sebert3030, I live right there in the Capital, so keep in touch and I inquire about the place where you will surely find her

There are more Italian beers at my favourite liquor store than from any other country and I told them...that was a big mistake; the prices are outrageous. This is the second time that they went that route. :slight_frown:

That's why they're still at your favorite liquor store ---- and not at the homes of the store's customers or the empties in their recycling bins.

Well, aboot 2 years ago, these Italian beers showed up and sat there and sat there until they suddenly were gone. They showed up again a few months ago and I shook my head. Probably the same bottles from 2 years ago. :slight_frown:
