    The worst beer protip is anyone who tells you how you should drink beer. Everyone is different and you know what you like so don't let anyone tell you how you drink your beer is wrong. They are wrong if they think there is only one way to enjoy beer.

    After reading this thread I think it's safe to say all of us on this site are a little bit "Type-A" in terms of glassware

    Hey! It's been frosty in the morning lately! :wink:

    All I know, is if I go drinkin with @steveh I've know to order my drink unbaked.

    In all seriousness, whether at home or at a nice bar, I've been known to get 2 beers at once. A lighter selection for immediate consumption and a heavier one that i expect to enjoy at closer to room temp. This is typically a winter move so room temp is a bit lower

    Well... I don't know. There are a lot of people who have only consumed beer - AAL's and Light beers, primarily - at ice cold temperatures directly from the can or bottle. Many of them might have various opinions like: "All beers taste the same." "Some beers are too bitter." "Aroma? What's that?" "Why is draught beer (typically warmer, and poured into a glass) so easy to drink?"

    If they raised the temperature of the beer, poured it into a glass (thus reducing excess CO2, and getting rid of some of the carbonic acid adding bitterness and masking other flavors), they might be able to taste and smell their beers. They might come to appreciate the flavors of other styles (granted, cliché though it may be, "it's an acquired taste" does apply to many styles).

    How do they "know what they like" if they've never tried anything else?

    Of course, they are always free to go back to their previous way of consuming beer, ignoring the suggestions of brewers, who made the beer, and knowledgeable, well-read beer drinkers. I'd venture to guess that those types of folks (in an earlier era, they might have been called "experts") have consumed beer both the "right" and "wrong" way and usually op for the former over the latter methods.

    Several items should never be microwaved;
    metal, meat and Beer are a few good examples.

    Why? Scientific research?

    As mentioned, it's a beer from below fridge temps being warmed (not cooked, not baked) for 15 seconds. I've tried and tested this for many years. Absolutely no adverse effects to the beer or drinker. :slight_smile:

    I'm starting to understand how Columbus felt, the earth isn't flat, people! :grin:

    Phew, that was close! I was just about to warm up a rare can of Jim Koch's "Old **** Ale" before heading out to be dragged around the driveway by the Ariens...:grin:

    Haha it's all good. I know this has been part of some survival/health tweaks and that my grandfather put his pewter (is this the correct translation? :/) on an oven in the winter :slight_smile:

    I think he was just in a hurry to fire up that 'Ariens' and go out to play in the snow, thus he missed a little bit on his selection of words. :slight_smile:

    I think it was more underestimating Jim Koch's mania -- yeah, just looked at the description of **** Ale... more over-the-top than I ever expected. :nauseated_face:
