    Greetings advocates and happy Sunday.

Sunny? Finally unlike many parts of the Northeast, which are literally pounded with snow.

Chouffe Blonde and pain au chocolat is what’s for breakfast. Or brunch.

Not only do you have the keys for the virtual bar today, @Shanex, but you sketched my wife’s favorite book. Our daughter would be completely named after Laura Elizabeth Ingalls Wilder, but only if our last name was Ingalls and she married a dude with the last name Wilder.

Anywho.... said I wanted to try my 2021 Abraxas Vanilla fresher, as the 2020 seemed faded by the time I got to it. Not a problem this time. [IMG]
Hope nobody minds a song more at home during Club Raul.

Okay. Something a bit more mellow for an early Sunday morning. Or two.

Bonus trivia points-if you know the amazing tv show both of the last two songs were played in, direct message me and I’ll tell all our virtual bar brethren what a tv nerd you are (and this is coming from the guy who twice got all 20 tv theme songs correct at a company workshop. I think it was about memory, but I can’t recall).

    Happy Sunday, compadres!

Good to hear; I’ve never read the book of which the widely known TV series took its inspiration but if my sketches can bring a smile to anyone here, or just is a nice memory for some of their younger years I’m more than happy to share.

I’ve basically grown up on late 80s or early 90s American and British TV. German too at some point, and French one of course.

Will see what I can manage to draw for a different day. Should be one and done for today both the sketch and beer, but I’m keeping an eye on the thread.

With this crew, you may end up drawing something inspired by a mix of jazz and death metal, and I honestly hope to see THAT!

Too early for a beer for me, I have to get motivated to go out and start the snow cleanup. Right now it's 6 degrees with a real feel of -10 so I'm going to wait until it gets to a balmy 10 degrees. Hopefully my neighbor comes around and makes quick work of that pile of snow at the end of my driveway. I hope everyone fared well in the storm.

And we’re clear in the Chicago area for a few more days, thankfully.

Have a good Sunday. I was playing 8 hours of PC games last night with my old roommate and his brothers again. We did Golf with your friends, Fall Guys(ADDICTING), and then most of act 1 Back 4 Blood to end out the night. Me and Julia watched MST3K The Slime People and then she went to sleep after 5 AM. I slept all day after 11AM to 8PM when I started gaming. She boiled spaghetti and put frozen meatballs in the air fryer. Very satisfying.

Now to review a sour IPA. Jolly Pumpkin I Thought I Was Special, a Tired Hands Collab. 11/1/2018 bottling, but released in Sept 2019. Wow this was amazing. Lasting rocky head retention and thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, oak, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, leather, musty Brett/lacto funk, and earthiness from yeast. Moderate lactic tart/sourness, oak tang/tannins; pine, woody, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, sticky/resinous hops, and barrel tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing sour/bitter dryness, with minimal puckering/astringent flavors. Mild warmth of 9%. Amazing complexity of Centennial, Citra, Cascade, and Falconers Flight hops in perfect balance with classic JP funk and oak character; with a lighter bodied wheat/oat backbone than expected considering the ABV. Tons of vibrant fruitiness and nice hop dankness considering the age of the bottle. The Brett character developed wonderfully, I can see why they cellar these bottles for around a year before release. I will now miss having access to these odd one off JP collaboration releases. No one has reviewed it. One of the best sour IPAs I've had, and definitely the best new one I've had from them in a long time. 4.45

Thankfully my neighbor just came by with his plow and took care of all that snow at the end of the driveway, that will make my task much easier!

Good morning BAs! Chilly 36° walk with the dogs done…they’ve been fed, it’s coffee time - Toasted Coconut Mr. Sandman by River North Brewing:

Bottled 2021. Impulse buy on Tavour (I’m a sucker for imperial coconut stouts). Poured at 52°. Very little coconut and an artificial aftertaste…disappointing…

My Monday trial in Tallahassee canceled and was replaced with one in Orlando, so I’ll hit the road again in a little bit. Cheers and have a safe (and warm) Sunday y’all!
