I’m pretty sure I added the review of mine @Whyteboar it was a seasonal that came out in December. I’m sure it’s still around, I think they have a beer finder too.

    Had to reply to this.
The NBS/W BIF is an absolute astounding creature. Stunning what lengths people will go to get someone they may never meet a special beer. Every time I go through one I am amazed in a different way.
So a Wisconsin beer to Canada by way of California? Just another day at the office.
    Cheers!

    He what's going on!

Very busy weekend, but also enjoyable. Luckily being on the Southern side of the storm, there was only a dusting around my parts in the DC area, making for some really nice mornings but cold days. I certainly hope everyone else is doing alright.

I am still getting through some new beers, but also I am getting towards the end too. That means only one thing.

    BEER RUN!

But still got goodies, and slowly partaking in them as well.

So what's new for our hero!?

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Pale and opaque dark yellow colored. A sort of faint turbid and custard brownish yellow, with a classic topped white head, bright enough but not snow blinding like a lot of IPAs. Reaches a creamy three plus fingers with ease, thick retention, some pill and spotted lacing with just some cling.

Good hop angle, hits with earthy and pungent notes of dank flavors. Nicely balanced, but not grand or overpowering either. Faint touches of lemon and orange hinting citrus but just a hair, adding for a bit of diversity.

Palate opens very nicely and with some delicious unexpected surprises. A very above average mouthfeel, full with a creamy touch that goes great in the NEIPA lexicon. Mid palate opens with much more citrus punch, sweet tangerine and even some tropical flavors walk in, but are excellently counter-balanced with a sweet dank and earthy pungency that comes out like sweet herbs and fatty rich flavors. Deliciously playful in sweet and earth qualities, nearly umami like too.

Very neat take on a NEIPA with some great unique hop mixing qualities.

Welp, my build your own 6 selections of beers I want to try finally hit a dud :slight_frown:
    My Gumballhead is a disappointment.
The closest thing I can find to a date code is 1 702 1 308 2D just below the bar code, the other beers were about 6-8 weeks old so I figured I would take a chance. Wish I hadn't.

The beer pours a lovely almost clear yellow amber with a tall, long lasting and nicely lacing white head.

Sadly the aromas are missing. About the only smell I'm getting is light lemony citrus and a bit of cracker.

The taste is also lacking. There is a slight lemon over wheat cracker and that's about it, almost reminds me of slightly stale animal crackers.

According to the can and website this 5.6% American Wheat Ale is heavily dry hopped with "hand-selected hops from the Yakima Valley", BA notes say Amarillo hops. Sadly those hops have faded away from my can. I sorta wish I hadn't added this to my 6 pack and won't be buying another until I can figure out a way to date it.

Will pull out at least one new beer to celebrate New Beer Sunday #884 later today, but jumping in here to post my review from last evening recorded via voice memo which turned out to be more work than if I just typed out real time.

They are still waiting for TTB approval for their brewery name change from Beer District Brewing to Neon Desert Brewing, so this review will be filed under the former.

Beer District Brewing Easy Out IPA

    Brewer Notes:
West Coast IPA, 7.8% ABV; 82 IBU, $7 16 oz draft (gift from brother) poured into a tulip lipped glass.

Appearance: Golden tan clear pour, mild carbonation, cream rich fine bright white bubble head leaves generous lacing throughout. 4.25

Aroma: Old School Hop Mix results in Pine, citrus and grapefruit, bold in strength, pleasant in flavor profile. 4.25

    Taste:
C Hops flavors, nicely dry. pine leads, citrus lemon and grapefruit back well. Comes together well. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Dry, bitter but far less than the high listed IBU would lead. Light to medium body. Nominal carbonation, easy drinking, also drinks lighter than the ABV, clean finish. 4.0

Overall: Solid offering, easier drinking than anticipated, worked well taste and feel wise. Delivered a solid WCIPA with this one. 4.25

    See you later today!

Founders KBS flavored with Cinnamon, Vanilla and Cocoa

Thanks to my friend @dcotom I have this to enjoy and review.

A very dark color bordering on black. I held this against different light sources, lamp light, sunlight, etc. and it kept coming up black but I should add my eyesight ain't what it used to be. Decent dark tan cap with lacing following about halfway down the glass.

Cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa are present in the nose but in a diminished fashion. More of a sense of chocolate overall with a touch of roasted grain.

My first taste impression was dark chocolate and after my palate adjusted I began to notice touches of cinnamon and vanilla. I also found a bit of roasted grain bitterness in the aftertaste.

Very full texture with enough carbonation to balance.

Overall a full flavored Stout that's very well made.

Beer, Porter, and Stout work for me!

Or, maybe Lager, Ale, and Stout.

Or,... (uh oh... better stop now...) :sunglasses:

Normally I wouldn't be back here so quickly, but I needed to get that Gumballhead out of my mouth with something a little more in my wheelhouse.

Alexandr, a 5% Czech pils from Schilling Beer (3 month old can this time )

This is really, really nice
Almost clear lemony/straw with a short lived white head and the aromas of lemon oil, straw, and fresh white bread.

The taste follows along with with slightly sweetened cracker (think wheat thins), some fresh hearty bread, lemon blossoms, a bit of grassiness, a hint of peppery spice, a little fresh straw

medium/full bodied with a smooth and rounded feel and a clean, slightly pithy hint of peppery grass aftertaste

One of the best American Czech pilsners I've had. I rated this the same as I did Jaws and those two will be alternating this summer

I get it - the first time I had it (Thanksgiving 2016), it took a minute (or a thousand) for my palate to adjust. That Indian sugar is ..... an interesting change of pace.

I'll add this to your excellent post, Craig - if you're in an NBW BIFfer, be careful what you post in the "Hints & Hauls" thread, even in jest. Because if you post something like, "I've always wanted to try a triple barrel-aged milkshake Kvass with carrots and portabello mushrooms added" in that thread as a random afterthought, your porch will soon be CRUSHED with triple barrel-aged milkshake Kvasses with carrots and portabello mushrooms added - in cans, bottles, and growlers.

The NBW BIF group is a SERIOUSLY motivated group of beer nerds.

    [IMG] New Year, new beer.

Today’s new beer: New Year from Arvon Brewing Co.

From the brewer: New England style IPA with Galaxy, Bru-1, and Amarillo hops.

Arvon is one of my favorite local breweries. They have recent expanded distribution to my area and are even delivering(regardless of order size) for a flat rate of 5$. Let’s get right into this new brew from them, from their Thursday can release. Cheers.

Pours a fully opaque bright orange with a finger of off white foam that reduces to plentiful sheets of lacing. Nose is citrus, pineapple, dank and bitter hop notes. Taste follows suit. Starts off fairly bitter and drifts into a tropical fruit medley with an orange juice undertone that melds everything together seamlessly. Feel is medium/full, cut by a decent carb bite. Overall, decent; not perfect. But I like it. Going 3.75 across the board.

[IMG] Got this from @jzeilinger . Poured into a 20 oz Snulip glass. Pours near pitch black with a tiny half finger head the settles way to fast, with a few streaks of lace. 4

Aroma is gram cracker, marshmallow, almonds, cocoa, vanilla, and a little alcohol comes out. 4.25

Taste follows cocoa, vanilla, gram cracker, marshmallow, almonds, and a little alcohol heat. 4.25

Mouthfeel slightly under carbonated and makes it feel thinner, not dry, and at 12% it goes down plenty easy. 4

Overall more carbonation would have saved the day, it would have been much better looking and better mouthfeel. Still very nice. 4

Cleaning the garage while we have a minute and what better time to pour a beer. Well I sat on the porch and enjoyed this one a little bit first  Another chuckanut courtesy of @snaotheus just as beautiful as all the others I’ve poured from them.

    Chuckanut- single hop lager (adeena)

A beautiful pouring beer, bright crystal clear gold. The most beautiful bubbles as it pours, they form so quick and in such quantity and just as quickly float to the top and make the beautiful white head that you see in this picture. One or two rings of lacing random dots thereafter.

The nose on this beer is so nice, it has such a refreshing and snappy smell. Some citrus, grassy, pepper, water crackers, and glorious warm spring days to come

No surprises in the taste here, I would say the grassiness of the hops does show itself very nicely though.

Another flawless mouthfeel from this brewery. Just perfectly light body, incredibly bright and snappy finish, like smelling salts for the palette. There is a really nice spicey hop driven bitter finish. Like they describe their kolsch this one is just a little too quaffable, you could chug this like a glass of water.

This beer is awesome, get some of it, or any chuckanut for that matter. 3 for 3 so far with the ones I’ve had and I still have their doppelbock left…
