    It was a great place. Unfortunately it's a Sherwin-Williams paint store now :confused:

    That's pretty cool. Hadn't heard that one before.

    Yeah, that was before NG pulled all sales to Wisconsin only, but I wonder if (based on the Train article) it was distributed that far (re-read, I guess Peoria is that far, too).

    Black Market would be a fun name for the next New Glarus Schwartz Bier!

    There’s a liquor store in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago that would regularly have Cow and Moon Man on its shelves. It was a bodega type store, and pretty sure the owner would just grab cases across the boarder and seek the sixers for like $13/$14.

    This was back in 2011-ish time.

    Also, this place was not PRFL.

    This was my first thought when I read this, but I knew Jr. was better than that. But yeah, I occasionally saw NG at random shops during that time as well. But couldn't for the life of me name a place.

    Puerto Rico Food & Liquors on Augusta. It was a hidden gem for a while.

    Somewhat recently, when performing my slightly convoluted transit route from the abode to Mister D's Shish-Kabobs on W. Diversey; after getting my Italian Beef there, crossed Diversey to the eastbound #76 bus stop (which has a shelter), and detected a 12-oz. bottle of New Glarus Spotted Cow upright within the shelter.
    It was half-full! I guess the bus came too quickly for the drinker. {Technically, drinking is not illegal on CTA vehicles. Drinking alcoholic beverages is illegal.}
    With a still-rampant pandemic, there was no way I was going to dare sipping anything from it. So I poured out the liquid and stuffed the empty bottle {say - that would be a good name for a bar :sunglasses:} into the bag alongside the italian beef. But it could make one think the bottle had been obtained somewhere in the neighborhood.

    Ok, you're busted. You bought it with your Italian Beef. Don't worry, your secret is good here. I won't tell Deb.

    you sure it was beer? What if someone waiting for a bus drank the whole thing but then had to go pee and didn’t want to miss the bus so they went in the bottle?
