…was hoping for @Davl22 to jump on this, as I’ve created too many; nonetheless, didn’t want Wild Beer Roundup to go unnoticed

    Outdoor seating only still?

I'm heading up this weekend, hopefully they have some hardcore heaters out there...

Have been told those hovering heaters work quite well:

the m-t-w closure is a bummer for a brewery of this size. I travel to maine about once a month for work, and I just can't seem to schedule my trips for a day they're open. even if just retail sales were open it'd be a huge improvement, because the brewery-only stuff they offer is great. alas I end up settling for whatever the closest trade winds offers.

Don't get me wrong, Night Sky & 16 counties are staples in my beer fridge regardless, and their Mass footprint is top notch, but you know, freshies...

    That is a dark IPA.

Allagash brewing an ipa is dark, indeed. I hoped it would never come to this.

Those are both Belgian IPAs though right?

This one is just straight up an IPA. There IS coriander in it too, but the hop profile and the fact that “IPA” is actually on the label seems a bit off brand for them.

My post was mostly sarcasm though, even my beloved Notch does IPAs. Allagash would have to do A LOT wrong to get out of my good graces.

    You be the judge.

Oh and I knew you were being sarcastic. Allagash seems to have a great culture - I don't know what they would have to do to get out of my good graces.

I think if they did something like Mystic did towards the end that would do it.

Though the Mystic IPAs were quite good in my opinion.

A Notch-esque IPA program from Allagash wouldn't bug me at all. I mean, look at HF.

The ones I had were good. It also kind of changed their business model from under the bridge saison producer to haze bro magnet. I don't think Allagash would be beholden to the IPA cash flow since they already have the proven cash cow that is White. I don't see Allagash changing. Plus, I don't think Rob Tod would let that happen.

You’re right. Between Rob, Jason, and former Oxbowian brewer joining the ranks, I would say the chances of Allagash going the way of Mystic would be around 0%.

I'll add the caveat IF they stay their current size. If they expanded it would be a different story.

Anyone get a taste of Swiftly yet? It appears to be in some stores here in MA, but I haven't seen it yet. Looking forward to trying it. Anyone try it? Thoughts?

I had it on tap at Allagash yesterday. I liked it, it was definitely a well made IPA. Dark amber in color. Pine, resin, dank aroma. Taste follows the nose with a little citrus and a slight bitterness, but actually finishes kind of dry. It is absolutely not a NE Haze Boi IPA. It is more along the lines of an old school West Coast IPA but with less bitterness.
