What beer are you drinking now? #3393

Good day BAs and thanks to @Shanex for opening today's thread! Are we doing an apricot-themed beer today? Well, at least @Shanex and I seem to be, although his is probably much better:



Pretty flimsy and not very sour (Pucker up? Not necessary. Apricot? Sure, that's as good a guess as any.) Rating 3.08, rDev -15.4.

 

Good morning BAs! When I arrived home yesterday afternoon, a plumber was in the kitchen installing a new sink and faucet. There was chaos. There was veiled swearing. This lasted until 8:30pm. There was a trip to HD for more parts. There was no water, no supper, and sadly no beer. As always, Mrs. Z’s sense of timing was, well, …

The plumber returned this morning at 7am…he’s still under the sink…the dogs have been fed and I’m drinking my birthday beer - Bourbon County Brand Reserve Blanton’s Barrel Aged (2021):







Bottled 7/26/21. Poured at 55°. This is an amazing beer. Deceptively easy drinking and perfectly balanced. Lots of mouth warmth from the 15.4%. Delicious combination of base and barrel with sufficient booziness to keep me interested. The smoothest bourbon I’ve ever tasted in a beer. If you like BBA Imperial stouts, this beer is an elevated rare gem. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

 

Another bday beer, from TBBW 2019 - Angry Chair’s “Adjunct Trail” imperial sweet stout in collab with Prairie Artisan Ales:



Poured at 57°. More nutty than sweet. Very little coconut. Still, awesome! Cheers y’all!

Hey BA's - happy snowy Thursday.....it has been snowing steadily all morning - probably got another 4" or so already - with 4-8" in the forecast and additional 2-4" tonight - tired of this crap!

Seems like a Narwhal kind of day....or gnarly or something like that...



days like this in February make me long for spring and casting a line into clear cold trout waters.....cannot wait

Woke up this morning to a 20 degree day and light snow falling. Everything is shut down, so I'm going to stay home, drink beer, and read a book.

Good evening Advocates,
Out of work more than an hour earlier than usual, which is very rare... and what’s more, it’s a day of spring weather...
So I took the opportunity to go to the Centre to drink another Franconian pearl :
Brauerei Eichhorn (GER) - KELLER BIER - Traditional Keller (4,8%)
Golden blonde, with soft foam and tasty as a hat
Amazing drinkability, perfect carbonation.
The mouthfeel is a very balanced mix of herbaceous scents, counterbalanced by notes of cereals and nuances of honey.
The finish is dry, clean while the palate has a spectacular taste of cereals and noble hops that give nothing more than is necessary for a classic and traditional finish.
In spectacular form!

On to beer 2 on a snow day - so, a Powder Day in a Yellow Snow glass seems appropriate!

Made a delish 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich with grilled sweet onion, mushrooms and tomato, and a homemade garlic dill pickle!



also - a mini- micro-green salad on the side - planted these just a week ago - easy-peasy
