Hop Butcher (2022)

This is, in my opinion, the best Riwakamania yet. I’m partial to the Southern Hemisphere hops, but they knocked this Riwaka/Nelson combo out of the park. They really kill a lot of these 6.5% IPAs.

 

Couldn't agree more about Riwakamania. Its probably one of my favorite HB releases to date.

 

Rhythm Recipe by Saint Errant was one of the greatest hazies I've ever had (regardless of double/triple) and Run To Daylight by Hop Butcher is also a delicious triple. But i agree with you, most of them are just overly sweet and get boozy bitter as they warm.

 

Some interesting news coming from Mike Zoller and his chat with HB dudes. The plan with 5 Rabbits is to use it as a production brewery, but both of the locations will have a taproom. Lincoln will likely open first and will be a more experimental small batch brewery with unique beers on tap.

Same! The taproom at 5 Rabbits wasn't the best setup. I hope they redesign it.

 

havent they been brewing out of 5 rabbit for 3+ years prior to the takeover?

 

Lincoln as small batch and experimental and then a big production brewery. Sounds like a winning strategy. Has anyone tried that successfully before?

 

Both. Some cans said Bedford Park, some said Darien.

 

Both facilities were used for several years. They’ve been out of Miskatonic for at least a few months now

I bet HB does pretty good out that way. The price point is kind of hard to argue with. I can’t think of another company making that thick/sexy haze at the same price point that JB offers.

Ps RIWAKAmania is stellar, I think it’s the best riwaka beer HB has put out to date.
Polycrystal is pretty darn good as well. Had it next to a draft pour of Lunch last night. They are kind of similar but the HB is more aggressive and dank, fruity simcoe leading the way. Grassy bitterness that lingers

 

Can't wait to try Polycrystal later tonight. Chillin in my fridge!

 

I had multiple over the weekend and really enjoyed them

 

I’m kinda pumped to try beef sipped. I know the HB team is pretty jazzed on this years crop of simcoe. Curious to see what tasting notes on the can will be

 

You guys are monsters. Here I am, minding my own business, patting myself on the back for drinking less and buying less beer, and all of a sudden - BOOM! - I purchased a 4pack of Riwakamania because of your incorrigible peer pressure and nonstop harassment!

 

For being only 6% the body on Beef Sipped is insane. Don't know I can think of a hazy pale I like better than this one actually.
