I don't know how this is playing out in the rest of the state, but up here several breweries are voluntarily shutting down for a bit. Aslan, Boundary Bay, and Twin Sisters are are closed for 10-14 days, and Otherlands is closed for this upcoming weekend. The weather has been shitty, and the omicron surge is real. Add in the usual cold & flu season, and that January is a slow month, and I'd imagine a few more will follow suit.

Holy Mountain was closed for a couple days due to a Covid outbreak amongst the brewers, but otherwise everyone in Seattle is open. Standard is requiring proof of vaccination and booster starting Monday, though. Was impressed by that.

Stocking up and just drinking at home seems like a good decision right now.

And, we can add Stones Throw to the list of the voluntarily closed. I also noticed a couple bars with closed signs up yesterday.

Cloudburst's Belltown location was also closed last week, but was supposed to reopen over the weekend. (No new posts on their IG, so I assume that they did reopen.)

Hidden Mother just announced they are shutting down next weekend. No word yet as to why.

If this has been posted elsewhere (like Oregon news?) I apologize and delete.

Came across this announcement. Based on the article, release party in Yakima on Fri 11, their Seattle taproom on Sat 12, and Portland at Loyal Legion on Sat 19. Limited distribution starting mid Feb to WA, OR and ID. I am guessing the TC might get passed over for the big markets, but you never know. Consider me on a quest…

I'm sure it will see the same distribution as the Clarity Rarity series and other "limited" releases like Citra Slicker.

Apparently, Sage Brewing has opened in Kennewick.

On Saturday I went on a walk with my Dad while I was visiting and discovered this was not only moved into the strip mall-like location at Hansen Park, about a 10-15 minute walk from my folks house, but it's actually open to the public. My Parental Units have definitely let me down (my Dad professed to have no knowledge it had opened, but he's pretty exclusively a wine guy) re: this development! I had read in the local paper last summer that a "brewpub" was planning to open there, but I'd heard nothing more, and figured if it became a reality, that it would take longer to materialize.

Damn! I can't even finish a regular 22 ounce bomber by myself (and I seldom have friends over who are willing to help me with a 13%/14% BA stout).

That being said, can't wait to try the latest variant. Just picked up a couple of bottles of Coffee/Cinnamon BBomb yesterday that I'm also looking forward to trying.

you need to take over breaking beer news in the TC. I have failed. :joy:

PS…I have heard of Sage brewing, though. should have reported.

Well, apparently I didn't get it right. Apparently this is meant to be a brewpub outpost of Sage Brewing, with their main operations in Pasco, somewhere. I've not heard anything about them, good or bad.

Ah. Now this sounding familiar. The brewery is on chapel hill (parallel to I82) between road 68 and road 100. My buddy went, said decent. Tap room is the one you described. They are fairly new. Interesting they set up two shops out of the gate. Confident they are.

Hey White Bluffs…open a tap room in Kennewick. Preferably, by Trios.

    I enthusiastically endorse this.
Better yet, one in west downtown Spokane!
