Damn... I was in Downtown Sac this weekend, but to busy to make it to UR. Hopefully these will end up at FG in Roseville soon.

Gracias, 3Ten is my go-to spot and I picked up the last 4 pack on Saturday. I'll check out Wine Country this weekend.

    Another winner from urban roots.
Would be cool to do a side by side with 10,11,12.

Anchor "Crisp" pilsner, admittedly a grocery store dad beer, is not bad. The most remarkable thing about it is it's not immediately identifiable as an Anchor beer, which surprised me. I thought it would be a slightly crisper version of the Calif. lager, which tastes like a leaner version of Steam. But it isn't, it's its own thing. Reminds me of a Dortmunder.

That is not what the name "crisp pilsner" conjures up for me. But it makes me more curious to try it than I was before. I know it shouldn't matter, but their new packaging kind of makes me not want to buy their beer

    Lol.
Looking back at my scores I only gave it 3.25 on untappd.
    I love anchor steam though.

Up here in Portland, Wayfinder brewed a polotmavý last year, in collaboration with Heater Allen and Bierstadt. A very tasty beer. Would love to try the Urban Roots version.

I know this is the lager thread, but I highly recommend their Hammerzeit Weizenbock if it's available.

Ya, I need to buy some anchor steam. I'm going to stock up on Bigfoot on my way home from work tomorrow and that place usually has fresh anchor steam, so maybe I'll get a pack.

Also, I'm not an untapper, but isn't 3.25 essentially "undrinkable"?

Yes. It’s the same 5 point scale. I didn’t write any notes but I think it was just flavorless macro lager quality.
    Still drinkable.

I am also super disappointed in the new branding. The original Anchor labels were some of the most iconic in all of beerdom.
I wouldn't rush out to try the pilsner, it's pretty uninteresting... But the fact that it doesn't taste anything like their other beers is noteworthy, at least to me. It's softer than the Crisp name implies, and the maltiness is Dortmunderish. I do love fresh Steam, and the Porter as well.

Has anyone tried Green Cheek's new Fourth Cousin Thrice Removed - Yorkshire-Style Cask Pale Ale w/Citra?

Debating ordering a case but the nitro has me a little on the fence since I'm typically not a nitro fan. Reviews look very solid though, especially for the style, and Green Cheek nails lagers on the regular.

On another note, Smog City canned their 'New Normal Lager' last week and at $13 a 4-pack it's pretty damn good. It's nice seeing a reasonably priced lager with prices regularly exceeding $15 or $16 for a 4-pack.

Agree with ya @UnknownKoger, 11 degrees is soooo good!

Your post convinced me to drop by Green Cheek today to pick up some cans. I’ll dig into one of these Fourth Cousin’s tomorrow.
