Well it looks like the virtual bar has yet to be opened this Super Weekend, and here I was wanting a beer. Cheers, friends, and I hope the weekend is safe and full of many great beverages for you!

Have a good Saturday. I passed out last night on the couch when we were watching TV. She woke me up around 1AM and I have been up ever since. Been looking through my game library and listening to music. Mostly been interested in strategy and management games, but did play Mutant Year Zero yesterday after work. That was like an RPG/turn based strategy game. I also got total war warhammer on epic for free recently. Been playing Mars Horizon for a couple hours and this is amazing. I love management simulation games so this is 5/5 for me. Replayability is high since you can use different Space Agencies with each game. It goes from Space race age to future Mars landings, love the history information. Even if I have read most of it already before, I am learning some new stuff as well. Even just casual fans of space travel will love this game. Another great thing is you can play this at an pace you want.

My gf made this recipe last night and it was amazing. https://www.mccormick.com/recipes/main-dishes/greek-style-beef-skillet

Anyways I still have some leftover big bottles from when I lived in MI. WOW this is tasting super jammy and sour, but is not really puckering and fairly crisp for the 7.6% ABV. big Brett and Bacterial complexity. Amazing stuff.

    Cheers

10/10 album. I haven't been blown away from a new album like this since last year.

Good morning all and happy Saturday.

I took the time earlier to kick the NBW thread, with a French beer, several hours later and after a stroll I’m now about to sip on Chimay Tripel.

This photo was taken around 10am before I opened the NBW thread:

Either you have a very enviable breakfast routine or this is from a very cool bottle-share or tasting event the night before. Either way it looks like great fun.

Good day BAs! Thanks to @mschrei for kicking off (HAH) today's thread and to @Shanex for NBW! It's another warm (33 degree) precipitationless morning here on the tundra of NW PA so it's ugly outside and generally uncomfortable. Today's New Breakfast Beer, however, is very comforting and not at all ugly:

Cellar Cuvee 13 from one of my favorite breweries, Jackie O's. This particular brew, however, being a blend of "Nine unique barrels of imperial stout from deep within our oak cellars" may be just a little too good to be true. To my taste (and IMHO), this seems to be a little too much of a good thing - perhaps combining fewer barrels would have allowed a more distinctive less generic taste. But still, it's damn good! Rating 4.21, rDev -0.9%.

Good morning, BAs! Let's start the day strong (and hopefully delicious):

    Kane - Double Double Cask

Not sure if my partner will be able to handle much of hers, depending both on her stomach and the flavor profile, so the majority of this 16 oz can of 15+%ABV monster miiiiight be going my way. :flushed:

Thoughts will be over on New Beer Weekend when ready (which @Shanex has graciously opened today, allowing me to look slightly less of a degenerate  ). If you're having a beer for the very first time - not necessarily a brand new beer, but a new-to-you beer - and want to tell us how it feels, tastes, and smells (and more importantly, whether or not you like it!), why not come join us? :grinning:

    Cheers!

    Morning, BAs....
Not a bad day for a morning (real) beer, on a day off from running...
2-3" of new snow on the ground, with ice underneath? Nope. Not tempted....just a little winter walk with the wife.

so a little NI/Cohesion Dark Czech Lager for me.
Cheers, despite my full day of grading ahead.

Thanks and you Sir are going horizontal this afternoon the way you are headed. :grinning:

Degenerate? Nah, just drinking as a « hobby » and passion, as always.

Nah, I'm still nursing this beer, and won't finish it until at least 2 hours after I snapped that photo. I'm considering an IIPA for round 2, though, and if that doesn't encourage some nap time, nothing will. :grinning:

Good morning BA's. For the IPA fans out there I have a first class Cold IPA from two first class breweries - Bell's and Creature Comforts (GA). This is an annual collab Creature Comforts does for their Get Comfortable community support project. Last year's admittedly missed the mark but this one is on target. Get Comfortable is a 7% Cold IPA featuring Simcoe, Cascade, Strata, Amarillo & Mosaic hops. I didn't know what a Cold IPA was, but it sounds basically like an IPL. Lager yeast fermented at warm temps. Regardless, this is outstanding. Pine, citrus, and earthy/grassy notes are prominent to me, but everyone will pick out different aromas & flavors themselves. Had a nice, clean lager-like profile & finish with a West Coast like bitterness that is not overpowering. Well worth seeking out while available. I thought this was right up there with the Belgian style IPA they did with Allagash a couple years ago. Cheers to the weekend!
