Welcome to Sunday Morning! Made it through Blues Before Sunrise and the one hour jazz show that follows is rapping up. Cross post with New Beer Sunday #886, a beer not new to me by any means with the exception that this is an "Easter Egg" version I'm trying for the first time, a departure from the standard blended versions released over the years to the general public.

Goose Island Bourbon Country Brand Stout 2020 - Buffalo Trace

Full review in the New Beer Sunday thread. 10 second review: Good beer, sweeter bourbon covers most of the other flavors, enjoyable, but like the blended standard version over the two single barrel version's I've tried.

In terms of the Super Bowl, I haven't watched since the final year beginning with the number 1, and that won't change today. I do remember fondly the years betting Hollywood Park, the race track the SB stadium was built atop. If you were looking to bail out at the end of hours of racing, Hollywood Park (and Los Alamitos and Cal-Expo in Sacramento) were your last shots during the typical intertrack wagering options (Australia tracks when offered, were last calls for a few races, sans flickering lights).

Hope all those watching enjoy the game. I guess I hope Cincinnati wins, since they never won before and I wanted them to win both times when I cared in the 1980s. Would be happy for @RaulMondesi and other fans here if the Rams won.

    Cheers!

The usual, pre-run, N/A UA thang. A little tart wake-up, more interesting that water before I get out there. Long run, recovery, grading.... a typical Sunday before I get to (hopefully) enjoy that sportsballz event. Smell ya later and cheers!

We need more milds in the US market. Glad to see Tonewood join other craft breweries in canning their milds and bitters. I have had some very good examples from Forest and Main (obviously, they are probably the best this side of the pond), Marlowe, Tired Hands, and Dancing Gnome.

Id love to get my hands on forest and main. I don’t have anything to compare this to maybe except Brawler and Boddingtons? This is similar to hobgoblin with a n emphasis on the bitter black tea. I think the hops are a little green in this but that disappears when you have a couple and at 3.8% it’s no problem at all. And the head retention is excellent which tells me the quality

Tonewood is becoming my favorite brewer tbh maybe still behind yards but they do great IPAs (DDH Fuego will fly its so hyped) and when not that they’re doing “forgotten” styles like Mild and Dunkel and 3% stouts. Really shows skill and confidence. And Oaklyn is a couple towns over and the brewery is not big at all just a highway town not large maybe 2 square miles. and they pump out so many styles I’ll have to see if they contract brew because it’s honestly crazy

their revolution Porter is to me the best dark beer in New Jersey. I said it.

No offense to Yards and Boddington but the English styles brewed by Forest & Main are on a whole different level. The treatment of their water is what sets them apart and creates a very authentic experience of a high end British ale (again no offense to Boddington).

Since you don't live far from Philly maybe it's worth making a trip to Ambler (or the few places in the area that see their distro).

Also your last comment probably made the Troon and Kane fan boys lose their minds, lol!

I believe forest and main is an hour and a half away from me. I’m always in Philly and or Bristol anyways probably 3 days a week. I only stated yards and boddingtons as I’ve only ever had those and hobgoblin English styles are alien to me and I’m sure forest and main will blow them out of the water.

Tonewood Revolution Porter is a coffee porter not sure percentage. Probably under 6.5% but for the price and quality I think it’s the best. Pillowy. Roasty but light.

Good day BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ for starting today's thread and for reporting on a beer I'll never see - BCBS hardly gets here at all and variants - Hah! It seems like another mild summer day here - currently 19 degrees F and damp. So I decided to dig up a brew from the depths of Beer Reefer #1:

The label leaves a lot to be desired, but it's Hoppin' Frog's Scotch Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S., a Rare Beer Club release. This is apparently made with peat-smoked malt. To my taste buds, this can be a bit tricky - Peat'll rip the epithelial cells off your hard and soft palates - it's rarely gentle. However, backed by a generally smooth brew (i.e. B.O.R.I.S.) at the proper temperature (cellar range), it can be delightful, as it is here. Rating 4.1, rDev 0% (Added by me).

Usual Sunday start, I won't bore y'all. Just my luck, washed the 4Runner and mustang so of course we both drive into work at 0420 and it's pouring.....fml. The wife just figured out she left cheese out of a english muffin/crab/cheese app she made for the super bowl, so it's kinda nuclear around here right now............Torpedo.
