Why would you want to kill something that's already dead? Bombers are dead enough. Do people on home computer forums still talk about the desire to kill floppy discs?

For me, I view bombers as specifically 22oz (and possibly extending that to 24oz) bottled American beer. Proper or not, I don't view 750ml bottles as bombers. I don't view large Belgian bottles as bombers. I don't mind the loss of 22oz bombers. I hope bottle-conditioned Belgian 750s refuse to die. Long live the Belgian 750.

Back in the day of bombers, I thought I'd be happy to see them vanish as a popular format. Looking at the shelves today, and thinking back on those bomber days with my rose-tinted glasses, I'm a teensy touch nostalgic for them in comparison... but not enough to desire their actual resurrection.

I have a great champagne stopper, but I never need it. A bomber is 22 ounces, a .750 is 25.4 ounces.

I've got 2 .8gallon bottles of TröegsMad Elf. Now THAT is too much beer for one sitting, and the bottle, even being a swing top, is too damn big to fit in the fridge.
    That is my only complaint.
They were gifts from the boss.
Guess they will be well aged by the time I find anyone who actually likes the stuff to share them with.

Thats a 32oz. Me and my buddies used to get the case for 20 bucks. Wed buy 3 or 4 for a night and go thru most of them.

I say that they bring Imperial Stouts in 64oz format, like Crazy Horse

DO IT! Behemoth is out for delivery now. That price was not a mistake.

$23 a pack at the brewery, I think they messed up badly and you won the Barleywine lottery. Jealousy is a bitter drink best served 22oz at a time. I might try it tonight, have see how bad my kids beat me up before they go to bed.

It's still listed at that price on halftime. No need to be jelly.

The bomber seems to be fading on its own, faster than 12oz glass, nor do I miss them.

Given the choice, I'll opt for cans over glass, if beer is available in both. Most of the beer in glass in my refrigerator is limited releases, most with cork & bail.

No longer purchase in growlers, but often pick up a 32oz crowler can, at the brewery.

Totally off topic. Box showed up from halftime and I expected one bottle of the BAB to be honest. But the whole 4x was in there.

I think of it like picking media to stream on a video service. I know I have the time and ability to watch a 2hr+ movie, but ultimately end up picking to stream a typical ~25min television show. Initially, I think I'll save time with that decision, until I watch eight episodes in a row. :stuck_out_tongue:

That probably reinforces your point, actually, but that's some of my logic in picking beers out of my fridge.

That said, I do actually want some big beers in big formats. I was the one against FW's change in format, despite cries for 4 packs of 12oz bottles (or the assumption that they'd offer this to consumers.) As time would prove, they never delivered on that consumer assumption (at least as of February 2022.)

I don't hate bombers per se, but I do with anything higher abv. 750 mL is even worse. I rarely am able to share beer with friends and I'm not about solo doming 22 oz or 750 mL of some 13% BBA sweet stout myself. Small portion sizes, please. 12 oz or even 8 oz formats are best for some of these really strong, sweet beers.

    You trippin
Just get rid of stupid pastry stouts. Problem solved

I never buy Avery, Prarie or other brewers that dare charge more than 1 dollar per ounce...15 for a 12 oz bottle? Go fuck yourself. 15 for a 22oz. Yes please.

Just buy a bottle stopper or man up and solo dome it. Only way i will embrace 12oz is if its in a 4 pack a la Willettized under 20 bucks for it or Revs style and 30 for 4 15oz cans

Im thinking at how many people were WHINING about KBS four packs at 25 bucks on here...more than half.
So what do you all want? We just a bunch of old ass men that love complaining. Let's embrace that

Having flashbacks of Chicago area Binny's circa 2015. Pipeworks bombers line the shelf of a local Binny's, along with bombers from pretty much every other f'n brewery at the time. Cost for one of 'em? Well, you ain't leaving the store with even an IPA bomber without giving them at least $12. That's the equivalent of a $34 4pk of 16 oz cans. There is simply no other choice with this package format.

Now this idea I like. In cans, too. There are so many local beers I want to try while also mixing in the numerous proven stalwarts I have loved and more 4'fers would let me do that.
