Yes, I browse a lot too. Spend a lot of time checking canning or bottle dates (which can be difficult) and annoying whoever's working in the aisle at that time.

Cartoon labels is a great way to describe these nonsense, hard to read labels!

Yes I have a hard time leaving the store without anything. If I'm having trouble in the beer aisle, I'll usually give up and grab a cheap bottle of wine or a couple of nips. Better than buying something I only "kinda sort of" want to try and ending up with a house shelf/fridge turd.

    This is a tremendous rant.

What I like about Allagash is they haven't caved to the haze/pastry stout craze. They stick to their guns and are still quite successful.

I like to talk and share opinions haha but obviously, they are just my opinions. IPAs and pastry everything seems to sell, and a brewery is about making money, so if thats what the people want...

Allagash is extremely good and, in some ways, very lucky that they don't need to change their ways to keep in business. Look at Ommegang. They introduced a NEIPA not too long ago and its now their best seller...

I rarely go to a liquor store unless I check what they have online, either via untappd or the store's own web site and know at least one beer I plan on buying. Maybe I'll browse the cooler and shelves for something that catches my eye if I'm already going to the store with a specific beer in mind. There are about 5 or 6 decent store options near me who do a pretty good job of keeping their untappd profiles and web site updated.

    Signed.

Although my number is probably much higher than 80%s.

For many of the reasons already listed, I just have no desire to delve into the selection in the craft beer aisles anymore, and honestly I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.

It’s becoming a somewhat tiresome debate at this point but more isn’t always better, and craft beer in the 2020’s is a great example of that.

I rarely buy a new to me beer, so I guess I agree.
