    Well, it's my birthday today and so I decided to finally take a very special bottle out of my cellar for the occasion, which certainly didn't disappoint! First birthday in 10 years that I'm spending by myself, but hey, at least I got some great food and drink.

    While it's not that complex or rich in funkiness, there really is a very subtle and nuanced feel to this that I can quite appreciate, with a vibrant red grape character and subtle funk, oak and tannins.

    Lunch Beer!
    Received this beauty from a guy on Imgur who saw I regularly posted beer pics and suggested a trade. He came through in spades; I have to send him more beer. Should never believe people when they say "Oh anything, don't go out of your way"

    Poured a very pleasing amber color with active carbonation and a manila folder (Google it if you've never seen one) colored head that left plenty of lacing.
    Aroma, even to my chemical damaged nose, was very nice. Obvious malts and hops play parts in the dance; I can't say I got the "pine, resin and mango" that the can states are prominent but it is very pleasant.
    The taste, found it hard not to think of this as an IPA, it's just on that cusp. Likely the hoppiest red ale I've ever had, but that's not a bad thing at all; it's delicious!
    The feel falters only in that it's way to drinkable for it's ABV. I could quaff this down by the liter if given the opportunity.
    OA, Seriously good beer, all the way around. The denizens of Hershey, PA are fortunate to have this on tap.

    Funky Drummer 71 - been to the dentist today so appreciating the 7.5% alcohol not to mention the rounded taste. Good find.

    Another cold and icy day in West Texas. Enjoying a Black Butte Porter while waiting for the promised sun to appear. Last night's BAs went on a Primus tear and had me listening to Primus until bedtime and again at get up time. I've transitioned however...to a different side of Les Claypool.

    Thanks! Yeah, it's not that easy to find a decent T-Bone steak in these parts, actually, so I was quite happy with it. I think the picture actually didn't turn out that well, but it really was fantastic!

    Good afternoon everyone. Good to be at the bar again! A lovely upper 60's again today here is Western NC.
    Today's first choice is from Highland in Asheville, a seasonal IPA. Very solid, will look to get a stock sixer next fall when it comes around again.
    Been listening to SiriusXM's Underground Garage and heard one of my favorites from the Stones...never get tired of this!
