Still blows me away that a small (having visited many times/not living far from them) very mediocre brewery can afford and would want to invest in opening a spot in Boston where rent is beyond absurd. I understand you can cash in on the “oooh shiny thing” brewery crowd that is just finding taprooms and craft beer. But unless your place is really amazing(food, view, culture) people will stop coming. Yeah you LH Seaport ha. This one just confuses me coming from Newburyport

I agree with your thoughts on Newburyport Brewing and most of your sentiment. I think the piece you might be missing is that Newburyport is not the main draw here, it's the food vendors. There are a lot of heavy hitters coming to this food court (see yesterday's Boston Globe), so Newburyport doesn't have to shoulder the burden of a Trillium or a LH on a standalone basis - they can go along for the ride on the coattails of Tiffani Faison, Mamaleh's Deli, Pennypackers, Wheelhouse, etc. and benefit accordingly.

As someone that works a few blocks away in the Financial District, I'm glad to see this place finally opening given the relatively few lunch options that are available today.

ahhhh this makes much more sense!

I agree and am happy for everyone there!

Shameless plug here but my very good friend and supporter of breweries and small business is opening his new Financial District location of Fresh Press. Açaí bowls, smoothies, raw food options etc. He’s a pro bmx rider and owns a few locations now as his main gig. Go say hello when they open!

The place was a zoo today. We walked by at lunch, saw the lines, and said no way. Been excited about this place for a while and uh...I guess everyone else was too. Ha.

Good to know! I was planning to check it out for lunch tomorrow but will probably give it a few weeks for the shine to wear off.

Anybody know of anything opening in Western Mass anytime soon? I get to most places in Mass a couple times a year but Northampton and that area is 90 mins away and a super easy day trip for me. Especially in the summer.

Rule of 3 Brewing in East Hampton, CT, is planning to open soon:

    https://ruleof3brewing.com/about-us/

They are already canning some of their core stuff for distro in CT. Had some of their stuff at a few beer fests and I enjoyed it. Brewers/Owners seem like good people. Right off Rt 66 just before getting into "downtown" East Hampton. Should be a good place to stop on a trip to Fox Farm. You could plan a really good day visiting Middletown and going down 66. Just off of RT 9 now you have 2 breweries, a cidery, and a meadery in Middletown, one brewery across the bridge in Portland, one on 66 in East Hampton, one off 16 in Colchester, and then make your way to Fox Farm in Salem.

sounds like too much. Why it just make a B line for fox farm and call it a day.

Because you are missing a lot of great breweries along the way...? Didn't say you have to do them all, you can pick and choose.

If I’m driving more than an hour round trip I’m making multiple stops. Why on Earth would you not maximize your time in an area you don’t often go to?

Medford Brewing had a quiet opening of their tap room over the weekend according to their facebook posts. It's located at 30 Harvard Ave in West Medford MA. I wasn't able to find any info on their hours but it looks like they were open Saturday and Sunday.
