Hi all, apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but couldn’t find anything. I’ll be driving from Dulles to DC (Foggy Bottom area) and back and I’m looking for some quick, easy stops to grab beers to go. Looks like Dominion might be a good option? Does anywhere on that route do singles (or anywhere in Foggy Bottom/Dupont Circle)?

Secondly, what are some recommendations for good canned local lagers and WC IPAs?

    Thanks for the help!

Dominion is a good choice; great selection and they have singles and crowlers. Depending on when you’re arriving, there are some great breweries not too far from Dulles — Ocelot and Crooked Run are both worth checking out and have lots of offerings in cans.

I have done Ocelot before and really enjoyed it, not sure if I’ll have the time to swing that side if Dulles this go around. Crooked Run looks great, might have to check them out. Thanks!

Local lagers are ok, nothing I'd really recommend. Von Trapp is available in this area, I'd seek them out. Good luck finding local WC IPAs, most of the breweries around here are heavy on the hazies.

Port City in Alexandria has an outstanding Lager Series that rotates throughout the year. Also, Vibrissa in Front Royal makes some outstanding WC IPAs (and lagers); Dominion, Brew Shop and Arrowine (the latter two in Arlington) may have some in stock.

Dominion wine and beer, The Brew Shop, and Arrowine all have online stores so you can always order crowlers ahead of time. Dominion is not part of untapped but the other two are.

Doesn't Aslin still have a place in Herndon?

And Juicy, in the old Aslin location?

    Yes to both questions.
I haven’t been to Juicy yet, but have heard good things.

Thank you all for the recommendations! Only had time for a quick stop at Dominion. Outstanding selection and super friendly. Wish I had more time to enjoy a pour or two from the bar, maybe next time.
