Good morning all.

My heating was out of order since Sunday evening and the technician/plumber just came this late morning here. Quick and efficient, all is back on track, nights have been a bit cold in the meantime so that’s a good thing.

Drinking Lagunitas IPA…

Good day BAs! Thanks, @Shanex for starting today's thread. No heat huh? That's why you've got a wife - to keep you warm when the furnace falters! We got glazed by sleet overnight - ground and roofs are frozen and white, roads and driveways are wet - currently air temp is 29 degrees. So, today's New Breakfast Beer:

Well. At 18.6% ABV this is designed for those drinkers whose goal is to get shit-faced - "Who doesn't like a beer that gets straight to the point and takes you to your happy place ASAP?" Well for one, me. I drink to enjoy, not to seek oblivion. At about $5/12 oz bottle, it's certainly cheaper than Utopias barrel-aged World Wide Stout but so is Mad Dog or Victory's Monkey brews. Seems like a good candidate for the next "Extreme Beer Fest", although it seems to lack the high lactose levels. Rating 3.08, rDev -18.3%.

With nods and apologies, another NA UA Choco-malt thing; a decent pre-run beverage before another chilly easy run. mini-edit, decided to include a little shot during yesterday's trail run at Garden fo the Gods.... good to take in the scenery in this lower mileage week.
Cheers, all

A francesinha and a dark beer for lunch should offer you enough calories to keep going until the next day.

Chouffe Blonde now, thanks @Ozzylizard! Women are much needed in our lives aren’t they? As once sang Shania Twain; « that won’t keep me warm in the middle of the night ». How wrong she was. :stuck_out_tongue:

Enjoying a "Ukrainian golden ale"... Andriivskiy Ale / Андріївський Ель from First Private Brewery / Persha Privatna Brovariya. I wish I could find any info on this brewery. All things considered, it was hard to resist this dusty and lonely bottle sitting out of place on the store shelf. I knew it would be oxidized (and it is), but I'm still enjoying it.

Your pictures never show up for me.

As a tip, I always mention (in text) what beer I'm drinking, just in case the picture doesn't show up for someone - for any reason. All I ever see from your posts is, literally:

""

Which ... isn't a beer, as far as I know. But then again, it could be the latest triple dry hopped double oat double lactose IPA from Other Half with a very Millennial-themed name.

Well, the can simply states "freshest by" May something. Not disputing how something could be "freshest" across a range of dates (surely it is literally freshest when it is, well, freshest?), that at least suggests Tröegs (isn't the "e" redundant with the umlaut?) think it should hold up ...

... and they're definitely right. Absolutely no sense of staleness on the nose, and it's drinking mighty fine right now. Regular NN holds up pretty well, probably due to the balance of the hops and the heavy caramel malt base, and this is similar.

I wouldn't want to test another 2 months on it, though. Their BB date seems to be a bit generous.

Good morning BAs! Stayed up past midnight binge watching TV with Mrs. Z last night, so I slept in today, natch…dogs and kitchen duties done, coffee time…so far I’ve managed to drink a Tampa Bay Beer Week (TBBW) brew, new or aged, every day starting on Saturday…today’s homage is Arkane Ale Works’ “Dessert Eagle - Rocky”, TBBW Friday Release (2020), a BBA Imperial Stout with Pinellas Chocolate, marshmallow and walnuts added:

Purchased at the brewery Friday, March 2020 morning…by Friday, COVID had canceled the NCAA basketball tournament and Hunahpu’s Days Festival in Tampa. People were leaving town in droves. I was one of 5 people at the brewery (Monday the line was a block long hours before opening…great bottle share!), and instead of 2 bpp, you could buy as many as you wanted; I liked the beer on tap and bought several bottles. So far, 3 reviews have been recorded, including a bottle I sent to @mschrei less than 2 years ago…my review today will be the 4th…perhaps a worthy beer, like many others, that fell between the cracks as the pandemic began to shut the world down…

Friday release TBBW 2020. Purchased at the brewery on release day. Poured at 54°.
Fizzy rocky fleeting dark tan head; no cap retention, thinnest of thin rings; a few spots of lace and no legs on agitation. Chocolate, marshmallow and bourbon nose. Taste is semi sweet chocolate up front; marshmallow middle; some dry walnuts as liquid warms; little bourbon; chocolate finish. Silky smooth; very little warmth from 12% abv; light carbonation; light alcohol tingle on the tip of the tongue; full minus body. Overall, the booze has backed off over two years and the Pinellas Chocolate shines; the whole tastes like a moon pie from my childhood, dipped in bourbon; outstanding.

4.0 | 4.25 | 4.75 | 4.5 | 4.5
Score: 4.51 rDev +1.3%

I’ve had this beer several times over the last 2 years and it’s well done and tasty. I prefer slightly the Turtle version, if you can find it. Cheers y’all and have a terrific Tuesday!
