Morning dog and kitchen stuff done, it’s coffee time…today’s honorarium to TBBW is another Arkane Aleworks imperial stout - “4 Fingers And…” a Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged imperial stout with Pinellas chocolate, coconut and marshmallow. A collab with Mortalis. Released Wednesday March 11 TBBW 2020:



Purchased at the brewery morning of release. A lot of folks were in the morning line to get this Mortalis collab., 2 bottles pp. Still delicious - tons of sweet chocolate and whisky; toasted marshmallow as liquid warms. Nevertheless, the coconut has faded away…Note to self (again) - “Don’t sit on coconut stouts!”…leaving door wide open for punsters …

Morning walk in - at Portage Lakes State Park, with Emma and my buddy Matt....nice day in store today, before winter kicks us in the nuts tomorrow night and Saturday (supposed to get 2-4" of snow tomorrow night, and another 1-2" Sat)

Will likely stay in until Sunday, as the "Chicago Hawk" swoops in to drop temps as low as 11 F and wind chill below zero. Hard to adjust to after shorts weather a few days ago.

Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout 2012 bottled 11/12/12. I'm amazed at how much coffee is still present in the taste. There's still plenty of bourbon to be found as well in this 14.3% beautiful relic. It's a damn shame they shelved this in favor of the mostly mediocre variants of late.
