Hey, just turned 21 so I'm new to the whole craft beer scene. I was looking for input for the best brown ales you have ever tried. Brown ales are my favorite. strike brewery's brown and lost coast's downtown brown are my favorite so far. Thanks for any responses! Cheers!

First question: Where are you located?

As a FL native my favorite has always been CCB Maduro Brown, and I'll give a second vote for Bolita mentioned above.

Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale is a classic. I also enjoy Avery Ellie's Brown, Smuttynose Old Brown Dog and DFH Palo Santo Marron.

    Alesmith Nut brown
Lost coast downtown brown (as you mentioned)

While not craft, I'm sure you've tried Newcastle. I only mentioned so you have a comparison to the very good brown ales being listed in this thread, and a mediocre version. Differences of American Brown & English Brown not withstanding, even as an english brown, new castle isn't that good, but, still worth a try to really show case the good choices your already making.

Another vote for the DFH Indian Brown and Palo Santo Marron. I'm not a huge brown ale fan but those are fan-freaking-tastic.

Dogfish Indian Brown Ale is great, as well as their Palo Santo Marron. Hemp Ale (Humboldt Brown) by Nectar Ales is pretty good as is Tommyknocker's Imperial Nut Brown.
