    Well, a rare moment.
    So I'll launch....the new thread.
Into some Half Acre Space IPA on my day off from running; feeling my back a bit, so going to take a day to ponder the universe... cheers!

Good morning, BAs! It's a wonderfully gray and dreary New England day, with rain and storms expected pretty much at any time, and all day. I'm good with that; I even left the car outside for a free wash.

Kicking off the day with something rather light:

Starting light and somewhat local - as I contemplate making some veggie soup for lunch...

    Works for me!

Pours cascading hazed body with lace climbing up the glass and lasting. (Just as this one climbs in the ratings!)
Act 25’s 3d from Hudson Valley, where I used to live and cycle in Rhinebeck. Agreed it’s a great brunch beer, better than any Mimosa.
    s) Sweetness and tartness battle. Bit of vanilla
    t) Bursts of mango, tart fruit, floral, sour with ample balancing sweetness and bready grain.
    f) Feels like mango/passionfruit puree in champagne.
    o) The best I’ve had from Hudson Valley.

Sour Farmhouse IPAs. Has to do with hop strength for making it around the Horn.
    a) Retention, haze, lace.
    s) Acidic, funky, and tart. Fruit in direction of orchard, peaches, sour apple, granny smith, lemon, lime.
    t) Follows aroma with greater orchard crisp tartness, granny smith at center, with floral hops in the background.
    f) drinks tart and acidic. Dry, clean, astringent.
    o) I think I’ll drink all the sour IPAs I can find.

OK, I’m a Carton fan boy,, but stretched on Context 1, back in fall 2019. Sold out! Now for Context 2.
    a) Firm reddish amber body with skinny sour head that fades to a peach liquid. 4 for color.
    s) Blueberries, berries, fall fruit, orchard perfumes all in bountiful presence with wild yeast.
    t) Follow smell and added wine-and-cider-like fall notes.
    f) tickle and tease as a great beer should be, kissy, and fervent, and wild.
    o) The consummation of years of experimentation, bring this one in a cellarable format please.
    I think this was formula:
    GRIST:
    Bohemian Pilsner, White Wheat, Acidulated
    HOPS:
    Super Galena
    PRIMARY:
Lactobacilus buchneri in stainless with blueberry added pre-fermentation
    SECONDARY:
    Brettanomyces bruxellensis in oak foeder

Good morning BAs! A new local beer I’ve had several times on tap, first time from the can - Magnanimous Brewing’s “Secret Town” Imperial Stout with Cacao, Vanilla and Macadamia Nuts:

No canning date (but canned within the last couple of weeks). Poured at 52°. Jet black with thin ruby edge; fast fizzy reddish brown head; no cap retention, ring nor lace; thick legs on swirl. Chocolate up front; roast malt and toasted nuts follow on the nose. Taste is semi sweet chocolate, nutty macadamia nuts; a little vanilla as beer warms. Full body, not adjuncty; light carbonation; smooth silky mouthfeel; a little warmth from 11.5% abv ; Overall, a very enjoyable non-BA imperial stout; the macadamia nut finish is in harmony with the chocolate; nice.

    4.0 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 4.25 | 4.5
Score: 4.39 rDev 0…I just added beer to database…

Mrs. Z is off to the home and porch tours here with her girlfriend today. I have a 3 Fonteinen’s Armand & Gaston in the cooler at the pub awaiting my lunchtime arrival. Otherwise a lovely partly sunny 80 +/-degrees kinda spring like day on tap here in SWFL…have a spectacular Saturday and Cheers y’all!

A compliment sir! You must have one helluva glassware collection. I enjoy your pictures and it looks like you have a little slice of heaven where you reside. I have a cabinet full of glassware and probably only use 3 or 4 glasses on a regular basis. I get attached and have a hard time with change. lol. Enjoy whatever adventures you have in store today! Cheers!

NBW cross-post. This beer is rich, evil, and decadent. The new Dark Funeral album was released yesterday. It is the same. So am I. I am listening to this album and drinking this beer while I doing a deep clean of my house. I have intentionally avoided romance since I got divorced almost three years ago, but a gal I recently met is going to come over soon for a Netflix and chill-type situation. Since WBAYDN Saturday is my most cherished hobby, I will have a number of beers in me before she arrives. Many outcomes are possible. My posts could go in any number of directions over the next 24 hours.
