I've felt off all day. We've all been fighting a cold, and I suspect that's why my head feels jacked. Hence: just now getting around to a second beer (and I didn't even finish the first).

Today's weather beercast calls for a local drop: 56 Brewing Super 'ssippi Squeeze DDH DIPA. 8.5%ABV 45IBU It is absolutely delicious! A lovely malty nose, large orange, fairly sweet, rich, not overly drying...yum! and a limited release. Sooo last night the band I played in did a 2 for Tuesday theme and it was a gas. John Prine, Nick Lowe, JJ Cale, Elvis Costello, Elton John, Rockpile, Clapton, Van Morrison...to name a few. The tune that won't get outa my head is "Take Me To The Pilot" by Elton. Cheers!!

Enegren Brewing Co. -- Schöner Tag

Cloudy, nectarine-colored body; big, lasting white head, dense and fluffy. Intense classic German hefeweizen smell; clove and banana. The taste exudes an underlying, muted wheat flavor while the yeast and hops reiterate the classic hefeweizen flavors; nice ester presence, banana primarily but a bit of peach, too. Medium-heavy body; soft and velvety on the palate; juicy with a slight dryness in the background.

I could be back in the biergartens of Germany from the late 80s, early 90s. This is a well-done representation of a classic European ale style.
