I think this would still be a fine trade even if you settle for 4 PtY.

 

Wow, my bad. I was saying that 100 was far too high for Pliny but apparently that’s about where it’s at?!?! I hesitate to comment on what someone else wants to trade their beer for… but please don’t do this lol. Trade something smaller and just get one Pliny to say you had it. I had Younger on tap at my local bar in Philly this year and it was the same as it always is… a very good IPA that isn’t all that much better than other Russian River IPAs (if better at all).

 

Right...and the sheer economics of shelf life should be a consideration. Best of luck to OP...I think this is a steal for whomever holds the hops.

 

Now not even considering the actual per bottle value this goes for, if I’m not mistaken the bottles are 2pp. And you will realistically wait at least 4-6 hours in line.
Honestly if you just want to try PtY, do a smaller trade for one or two bottles. It’s extremely unlike anyone even has 6.

 

$100 is too high for PtY. It is very good, but after the first time I tried I realized that the hype machine on it was higher than what it was worth. I wont chase it again, but I wouldn't mind trying it again at a bottle share.

 

yeah but its a 2 week long release. are you not allowed to go back on multiple days to get more?

 

Please let that time estimate be wild exaggeration… nobody waits in line for beer anymore and shouldn’t need to. I can order Hill Farmstead to my doorstep on Monday, in Pennsylvania.

 

This may be the first time I have ever been jealous of someone in Pa.

Also, my sister’s boyfriend lives in Pitt, but comes to town every week. Sounds like I am going to have to place an order for his address.

 

From someone who has had both beers I wouldn't give a BBT of any vintage for 100 bottles of the freshest Pliney The Younger. Classic case of an old school whales reputation out lasting its actual worth. This beer has been passed by honestly. I completely understand the desire to tick it but don't trade away a BBT for it. I haven’t been this year, but judging by the fact that it’s the first PtY release at the brewery post COVID and judging by the past I am pretty certain it’s not.

I’m sure you can, but given the above would you? Idk, maybe some local manages to go right before closing on weekdays. Good luck to OP but I’d settle for less bottles in a different trade which are sure to be easier.

 

Get some Hop Juju from Fatheads. Its close enough to PTY and like 20 bucks a 4 pack. Younger is one of the most over hyped beers on the planet now. If someone offered me bottles for $10 and I couldn't resell them I would buy one bottle and probably regret it. Russian river beer does not hold up in bottles either.

 

I was curious, so I checked it out… on Day 1 Russian River said there was 200 people in line. Something would have to be seriously wrong with their operation if that came even close to being a 4 hour wait. Also, that was at opening… it was probably far easier to get later. And they noted that on Day 3 the crowd was much lighter.

 

RR just posted….line way down, 1.5/2 hour wait. Should be plenty to go around

 

But does it matter? Trade what you want for me what you want. Both traders are happy….
