    Greetings and hoppy Tuesday advocates.

Here is to drinking my favorite Tripel. Might have missed the triple tasting thread this past weekend because of stuffs, but we’re fortunate to find it here for about 2€.

    Hello everyone Advocates,
I'm sending you this easy beer drunk last weekend, which from a point of view of toasts, drinks and celebrations was of a level of other times...
Here it was day, but the party had started on Friday night:

Birra Rosa dei Venti (Prato, Toscana, ITA) - AMBRA - APA Rossa (5,5%)

Aromas between caramel and crème brûlée sweet notes.
Poured is amber, tending to red, but not too dark.
Creamy foam, quite soft and of good consistency.
In the mouth very soft beer: the malty part is the master, notes of caramel, biscuit, toffee. The bitterness is really light and can be felt on the tongue shortly after having swallowed the drink.
Beer "built" not to create shock in those who drink it, trying, in my opinion, to create a sort of bridge between the tastes most people are used to (industrial beer consumed for generations) and that world, for the most part part of the people, "new" which is craft beer.
Simple, round beer ... Probably suitable for those who are taking their first steps towards craft beer.

I also had an "unreleased" Tripel that I didn't have time to share on the tasting thread, but as soon as I recover a moment from those three days that have just passed, there will be an opportunity.
    Sláinte !
    Cheers !

Trying to get some sleep, poured close to half of this cellar beer and hoping it does will send me to ZZZZZZZs.

Not sure if I'll save the remaining 12 oz for later.

I'm drinking, RIGHT NOW!, a CAN of Adroit Theory's Cosmic Oblivion (Ghost 1077) with a whopping 10.2% ABV. Unlike @ChicagoJ this may just send me back to beddy-bye.

I am on my seCANd Drop Day (day off), having gotten my Drops changed from T night for W and W night for H to M night for T and T night for W for an eight-week hiatus in order to participate in an aggregate score M Night Bar Trivia tournament. My team finished 4th last night, but having killed it in the previous (1st) week, there is NO need for panic.

I was awakened by both an asthma attack and a dream about my favorite coworker who incurred a s**ty DUI over the weekend. She plowed into a parked pickup, totaling hers and pushing the impacted vehicle into another parked car, resulting in damage to both of them. Worse, she does not seem to have been buckled in and impacted the windshield! When she reported for work on Su night, I was shocked! She looked like she had incurred a massive beat-down, the likes of which I used to both give and take as a young man. Her pretty face is bruised and abraded, but not scarred, thankfully. Had she gone all the way through the windshield, she might look like Spider-Man's nemesis, Jigsaw. She's a tough, plucky gal, which is why I like her, but she is oh, so flawed. I just hope that it all pans out for her.

It is super cold here in SoCent PA for this time of year! I'm still thinking about CHI, but not any time soon. PHL seems to be my upper limit for now, but NYC beckons this Summer.

I have a painter coming over today for an estimate to paint both the interior and exterior of the house. Hoping it's not too much of a sticker shock.
    Enjoying this.

It’s probably not going to be cheap. But it can go from simple to double or triple depending on the painter and the other dudes he may hire. I have quite some respect for those capable to do any house renovation themselves.

My father can still paint, do the wallpaper, cement, plumbing, tiles and electricity himself.

Electricity is probably the most tricky and difficult.

Dang. I've done quite a bit of painting in my day. If I didn't live so far away, I'd drive over and paint for a couple of six packs. I hope you make out ok.

Well yeah, that's "dad" stuff. It's a prerequisite. Also, kids are expensive, so learning to DIY is usually cheaper than hiring someone. As a father of a toddler and a special needs tween, I endorse this message. :hugging:

Left Hand Brewing Co. -- 25+one
Barrel aged Russian imperial stout blend
ABV: 14.5%; pouring temperature: 49 °F; bottling data: unknown

    4.24/5 rDev -0.7%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Dark, opaque body; thin head yet lasting; khaki colored; creamy texture; thin sheets of foam coat the glass. Heady aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, light whiskey notes, charred grain; some wood undertones. Sweet cocoa taste with a moderate bourbon streak; milk chocolate; mild grain char and bitterness offsets the sweetness and booziness. Heavy body; velvety smoothness; moderate alcohol warmth counteracts the slick residual sugars.

If you love a big, barrel-aged stout, this is a beer to try. It's a blend of beers with a healthy boozy presence from the beer's ABV as well as the barrel aging. Deep, complex, balanced.

Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup 3/29/22:

    1) Fulton’s Lonely Blonde (4.8%):
A blonde ale from Minnesota with flavors of lemon, toasty German bread malts, with a sweet lemon finish.
    versus
    2) Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%): A Czech-style pilsner from Minnesota that bready and salty flavors of fresh bread. Slight citrus qualities to give it an American twist.

    3) Surly Castles in the Sky (7.0%): A hazy IPA from Minnesota with flavors of juicy orange, pineapple, peach. A light and relatively dry finish.
    versus
    4) Surly Axe Man IPA (7.2%): This DDH IPA from Minnesota has Citra and Mosaic hops for flavors of citrus and tropical flavors of papaya, melon, berry with a Golden Promise malt.

    5) Bent Paddle Black (6.0%): A dark ale from Minnesota that has flavors of roasty coffee, chocolate, black malt, oats, and a dry chocolate finish
    versus
    6) Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald (6.0%): An American Porter from Ohio with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and smooth chocolate flavors.
(All 3 of 3 pairs correctly matched blind)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Bahaus Wonderstuff:
This one captures the greatness of a Czech pilsner. Salty bread malts, with a slightly bitter finish. Has become one of my favorite pilsners.

    4) Surly Axe Man IPA:
This one has a robust tropical berry, papaya, and melon flavor. The golden promise malt allows it to finish without being too cloyingly sweet.

    5) Bent Paddle Black:
Usually I am a fan of the Edmund Fitzgerald, but this one gets the win today. It has a chocolate, coffee roast, and black malt flavor with a delicately dry finish.
