I will for sure try it (and probably love it), but my feelings are that of a BA trying not to be a hypocrite. If a big, hype IPA places suddenly does a Witbier or a Pilsner, I’m always like, “Come on, leave it to the pros.” Now, the opposite is happening! What is the Allagash fanboy in me gonna do!!

Having one now. I like it a lot. Oddly, the guy at the shop told me he didn’t Ike it and even tried to steer me away from it. I HAD to try this. I can see myself buying plenty more.

People at beer stores can be an odd bunch. I think I told this story here before, but I overheard an employee telling a customer, "This is Sip of Sunshine. This is the beer that started IPAs. It was the first one ever made in Vermont in like 1993. Up until like a year ago you had to go to Vermont to get it."

I'm thinking to myself, "Well, absolutely not one word of that is true."

A beautiful beer that I enjoyed a lot, if you posted it in WBAYDN (I forget whose post I saw) then you’re the reason I even knew it existed. I rated it quite high on here.

Well maybe one part was true…:stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing concrete; likely to hear more after Quintessence

    Okay, you have my attention…

“We brewed Seconds to Summer, our new lager, with classic Czech hops and fermented it with a Belgian yeast strain to yield a crisp, flavorful, easy-drinking summer sipper. Find it in 12-packs of 12oz. cans soon in CT/DC/DE/FL/GA/Chicagoland/MA/MD/ME/NC/NH/NJ/NY/PA/RI/SC/VA/WI/VT.”

Just picked up a 12 pack of seconds to summer. Going to crack a couple for the game tonight. Anybody tried yet?

I liked, but didn't love it. A little too heavy on the hops. I spoke, however, to someone in QC at Allagash and it seems like they're going to be doing a little tweaking and dialing back.

    Go Celtics!

It's excellent. Very impressive full flavor at a low ABV.

I enjoyed it a lot, as well. I also enjoyed the Celtics game!

Picked up a 12-pack of the Seconds to Summer over the weekend with high expectations.

I was expecting tasty easy-drinker (a replacement for Sierra Nevada Summerfest) and ended up with a messy off-tasting beer where the Belgian yeast has taken over, and not in a good way. Advertised as "crisp and hoppy"" - could've fooled me as I detected neither. Somehow a very sour aftertaste too. Unequivocally the worst Allagash beer I've ever had.

I tried the other summer beer, Floating Holiday, last week. I liked it a lot, but the only place around me that seems to have it is Trader Joe's??? Especially here in Massachusetts, where most grocery stores don't sell beer, I don't usually think of Trader Joe's as the cutting edge.
