    Another lap around the sun means a new WBAYDN thread, and what better than it starting in the great southern land that's baked its way through about 150,000 of those laps and counting?

    You'd think such an opening would warrant an Australian beer to follow, but I'm an inconsistent southerner and so I present to you Hoffbrau Oktoberfestbier, about 150 laps after it should have been drunk.

    Good evening Aussie mate!

    Good morning to the rest of the Euro or American crowd.

    Just refueled the car and went for quick errands, namely beers (duh…), a baguette and some cookies.

    Drinking Bush Triple at 10,5%. One of the strongest tripel I ever had. As most Belgian triple the high ABV is well hidden but the flavors certainly are noticeable.

    Hey, those Fiddlehead products taste grapefruit, is it the hops? Shows how little I know, btw grapefruit inhibits the metabolism of certain statins that increase blood levels of the drug. The problem creates a dosing dilemma,, accuracy of dose to result is smudged… so it can be problem.

    I believe the grapefruit flavor comes from the hops bill they use. I don't believe they add and grapefruit juice to their products..

    Morning, BAs! I decided to cook up some breakfast for my partner and I, and naturally that deserves a beer pairing. :wink:

    Then our kiddo woke up, and naturally wanted an omelette, so what started as me being hungry wound up being me cooking breakfast for two - and making do with just the beer for myself. :rofl::angry:

    2 1/2 egg omelettes (I had 5 eggs, OK? :stuck_out_tongue: ) with cheddar, provolone, yellow onion, home-pickled jalapenos, turkey (the only meat we had on hand), sprinkled with more cheddar, and sour cream and hot sauce to taste (more hot sauce for one, more sour cream for the little one)

    Have a good Saturday. I am in Saint Louis for 2 hours layover before going to Boston. I spent the night in Charlotte and almost finished Angel's and demons. Next up is a Michael Crichton book. Andromeda strain.

    Got a Boston lager. Awesome Vienna lager as usual.

    Nice looking breakfast. I did bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches but did not photograph it. Is there any better smell than coffee and oven cooked bacon on a Saturday morning?
