I scored a sweet 12 pack of Zero Gravity's McLighty Light Lager for $14.99. That's a downright steal for a beer with only 3.8% ABV and 90 calories. I like to watch my consumption more nowadays. I'm more selective with beer in general and don't view $16.99 4 packs of any brewery to be worth my dollars.

I’ve been buying a lot of beer online. I always look for free shipping. You can’t beat Other Half for online purchases. A mixed build your own variety case runs about $100 +/-. Burial and Foam also offer “free shipping “, too. I’m lucky because I live in a state they all ship to (PA).

Bwahahaha...Oh wait, it was a serious question...Ahem...um, no. I just picked up two variety 12-pks, today, and I am already overstocked as it is.

Beer prices are largely the same as I see it. I keep costs way down with home brewing.

Fine tuning a bit also to inflation can't be wrong. Best of both worlds: the beers I drink the most are from my super store and mostly 1-2 bucks, ordering about 30 at a time keeping transport cost down. Then are the new beers showing up in my BA beer section, mostly from abroad, at €2.50-4 and added a higher transport cost because as it is I order ten at a time, carrying them home myself from the box.

So better not get dependent on ticking, even if that is the salt of the hobby!

I'm glad I only was into it for a couple of years, think of all the money I could have wasted

I've been buying more beer than ever, so I guess inflation hasn't affected my beer buying.

I’m in a similar boat. I have beer maybe once a week with my friends on the weekend but try a bunch at that time. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but also not really sure about spending a stupid amount on something I’m not sure about either.

I'm not gonna let inflation get in the way of supporting my local beer vendors.

No, but that's because beer is one of the only areas where I don't worry about spending (the other being food).

I'm very thrifty and cheap. I don't waste money. That gives me room to spend basically what I want on beer and food without worrying about it. The drawback is that I'm not taking tons of vacations or cruises or things like that (not that I have the time for that anyway).

We all have different amounts of money to allocate how we see fit, but we do make choices as to that allocation. Maybe once I'm ready to retire (I check-fired on that a couple years ago), I'll get more concerned about my beer budget and start to travel more instead. :grinning:

Mrs O has her tennis, I have my beer. So when the credit card statement arrives each month, she doesn't ask me about obvious beer-related purchases and I don't ask her about obvious tennis-related purchases.

That's 32+ years of marriage working for the mutual benefit of the participants.

That's right, I just typed that.

Fortunately, at this point in my life, the inflation has not impacted my beer purchases - yet. I have certainly noticed the price of beers rising where I am; for example, I recently saw a 6-pack of Sierra Nevada pale listed for $11.99, whereas I had always seen it for $9.99 or at most, $10.99. As I only drink on the weekend, purchasing a few 6-packs will last me a while. For me, as much as I enjoy beer if the prices eventually skyrocket, I will have to reevaluate. As someone mentioned above, I also tend to avoid the $25.00 four-packs.

I personally am not seeing what you are seeing, but if you are looking for beer snobs, Beer Advocate is a solid choice.

I stock up on Homebrew kits when they go on sale for $20.
Hard to beat 5 gallons of good beer for $25-with yeast.
I'll buy some cheap beer like Miller High Life, Genny Cream Ale or Yuengling Black and Tan for basic chugging/yardwork beer.
I only find myself splurging on any new Bocks or Lagers, and the occasional Belgian and German brews a few at a time.
Back in the single days in the early '90's, I'd blow a load at the local six pack shop. That stopped after the vice got put on my finger.

Has inflation impacted my budget (which ultimately includes my beer budget)? Then Yes, things cost more so my overall budget has slightly shrunken, so I try to spend less, save more.

Have increased beer prices (due to inflation) impacted my beer purchasing choices? Then No. I haven't seen inflation directly impact beer prices. I can still buy a mixer 6-pack for $11-$12. Quality NEIPAs continue to break the bank at $4-$7 a pop. I haven't noticed any increase in prices and given the wide, and variable, range of craft beer 6-packs from $8-$14+, I will not complain because that's a good deal and if I'm buying it the beer is worth far more than that.

Well when you do the math out like that I hope that wasn’t a typical month haha.

I do have to say Boston is a very expensive area regarding beer prices (among other things, like housing…etc.).

    More reason to homebrew! :beers:

My recent batch of Belgian Dubbel is 'bubbling' away vigorously as we 'speak'.
