God forbid SP release what the package will include or the cost ahead of time. Wouldn’t want to lose out on that super sweet beer nerd FOMO when you only have 1/4 of a second to make a decision.

I was on the edge of trying for it, and this is exactly why I passed. I love the saisons and grisette generally (and have bought stout packages before), but just wanted to know what I would be blindly refreshing my page for if I were to attempt it.

There's no longer any justification for not releasing the package/price other than shamelessly trying to pawn off products on customers that otherwise wouldn't be purchased nearly as much. Charge as much as you want for your stouts, but at least be up front about it. It's a shame, because SP sours can typically stand on their own and I'm sure plenty would be sold without this skeevy method.

I lost it when I went to add tip.

Oh well. More money for my new bicycle, that and I don't really need another bottle of CdC and Grisette sitting around.

That definitely annoys me as well. Not that it mattered today - as the package didn't show up on the beer page but the main page, and by time I got everything typed in, it gave me the finger. Oh well.

It was too steep a price for a 375ml for me. If I’m purchasing that expensive of a beer I want to share it with friends and still get a decent sized pour. I liked the bottles it’s packaged with, but $60 for a 375 is out of my budget

The white labels are all great so I'm not complaining about how I "have to" buy them but the fact that I know I'm probably gonna get a few in every stout package makes me less likely to buy them independently. Excited to score this package. Should be 4 really good beers.

Mostly agree with all of this - don't feel too bad missing this one.

I scored a bottle/allotment. I guess happy 40th birthday to me? Wife should forgive me.

This is exactly my take on it. I'm fine with white labels and how this is sort of the cost of wanting the unicorn beers, but the days of popping in on a whim to stock up on Grisette or SdF, etc, are sort of over.

It's strange that they don't release the details for sure. I understand why they package them: they are adding a small disincentive to flipping the beers, because now the seller has to invest $142 instead of $50-60. But I really don't think releasing the details would change how quickly they'd sell out. Maybe it goes from 20s to 23s, but the demand for their stouts + allowing proxies ensures they will be gone quick.

At least it was a good package.
I don’t think packaging the beers discourages flipping at all. -Except for beers like Langst, that apparently sits for awhile.

I regret buying the CDC on it's own now. I just don't love fruited saisons enough to grab 2 of them at $40 each but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. CDC5 was worth having two of

Maple in the Wood also sat in the shop for a while. Not sure why people didn't gravitate towards that one.

Yeah with the cost of that package, I passed and now hope Forever Darkness makes an appearance on Saturday.

I actually didn't mind the package this time but happen to enjoy Grisette quite a bit despite not being my style. Managed to grab one.
