I'm not a big fan of fruited saisons either, but I split a bottle at the Cellar last week (cheers @fo1ksguitar) and ended up buying one to go. I'm not at all bummed that I get another one in this package. Plus I'll always take more Grisette.

I think someone mentioned it earlier, but the Forever Darkness being only a 375 is an issue for me, as I like to share bottles I get from SP as it comes so rarely to me being so far away - so I was less inclined to drop $142 on a bottle that I can basically share with my brother.

I’m good with it as it made for more to go around. I’ve now got 2 375’s vs 1 750 so get to enjoy it multiple times.

I’ve gotten to where I very much prefer now to share these special bottles with a couple of good friends rather than take a 750ml to pop/split 10 ways and it end up a blur anyways. 3, 4oz pours here is a great setup.

not sure i agree with the whole smaller format = more to go around. it’s still the same amount of beer. it’s most likely the same people getting a bottle (or bottles). it just means you’re paying more per ounce (you’re telling me this was going to be a $120 750mL??) and you can only share with one or two people as opposed to 5 or 6.

also, what’s next? those silly ass 6oz bottles like AC puts out. lord, i hope not.

Haha. They're never going to please everyone. I find the 750s to be impractical. I don't wanna hang out with a bunch of other beer nerds every time I want a big stout. Sometimes I just wanna watch a movie or read a book alone and enjoy 12oz of beer.

i hear that too and that’s what CW, Rev, Floyds (obviously depends on where you live) is for. rare beers (looking at you KBBS) should be at least 500mL and even that’s weak sauce most of the time. 22oz bomber or 750mL all the way so you enjoy with friends. solo the easy to find stuff. just feel like the smaller formats (single bottles - not 4pks) are a cash grab and the breweries know it and yet somehow the consumers do not.

I’d love to argue that SP chose to invest in a 375 “clean” bottling line to try to “get more bottles in more hands,” but we all know that’s bullshit. They did it for the same reason that Gourmet ice cream is in pints and not quarts: Keep the price similar, but reduce the volume, making the purchase feel more palatable.

(I’d actually pay $5-10 more per 375ml bottle of BBT if they gave 2 375ml bottles over 1 750ml bottle. But that’s really a separate discussion.)

Well you're also correct on this, and I readily concede that - they're never going to please everyone - was more voicing my preference as opposed to bitching. I hear you on this - but I also have a litany of 12oz voodoo BRC bottles for my quiet time haha.

it’s all about your consumption methods / philosophy. to me, the rarer stuff has always been kept to share between friends as they seem to do likewise and that’s how we have always rolled. which is why something like Deth Tar or a CW brewer’s reserve bottle suffices by myself in the meantime. but like @AlexIrigoyen said, you can’t please everyone.

I would love it if they started bottling all of their stouts in 375s for on site consumption. Especially considering it’s a 45 minute drive for me to get to SP and unless I bring friends with me a 750 of 15+% stout is out of the question.
