    Happy Saturday BA's! If your weather is anything like ours, enjoy some time outside! It's 63 degrees with full sun and a light breeze. Knocked down a couple bloody mary's and now a delicious KBS cinnamon/vanilla/cocoa stout with brunch the wife made. The dish is egg, cheese, garlic, bacon, prosciutto.....with muffin and bacon, cheers BA's!!!

    Brunch and morning chores done - coffee time! Utopias Barrel Aged World Wide Stout (2021):

    Poured at 52°. Fleeting tan head leaves, initially, a thin ring; no cap retention, no lace; thick legs on swirl; opaque black with ruby see through body. Nose is oak and Sherry; hot boozy exhale; roast coffee notes as beer warms. Boozy dark chocolate; semi sweet caramel; dark fruit; bitter roast coffee; sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry finish. Hot phenolic mouth warmth (17.3%); medium plus body; light carbonation; alcohol bite on tip of tongue; dry barrel finish. Overall the barrel flavors smooth out the roasty bitterness of the base; the combination still packs a big boozy punch with plenty of alcohol heat, which I like when this well done.

    Howdy BAs,
    Slow     start to the day after some...uh... wine last night. Not used to it anymore, woke up late.
    Took a nice, not-too-sore walk this morning just for some active recovery. Legs feel good.

    The usual UA Choco-starter to get things off to a low-key day; watching soccer is the only thing on my agenda, and scheduling advisee meetings for a busy upcoming week.

    Admittedly was yesterday. At Kings Road Brewing in Haddonfield NJ. Started with a 6% oatmeal stout. Ended with the 1944 Czech Pils. Great stuff. Daughter had a huge school project. Went out for pizza and an old friend and I ended up at the brewery down the street. Cheers
