Notch Brewing (2022)

Heading to the Gardner museum to see the nasturtiums with my girlfriend early this afternoon, but a decent chance we’ll stop into Notch on the way back. Hoping the mild and bitter are still going strong.

Here with my GF and all tables but one had 2-3 parties. One had a couple (Allston hipsters in marching black head to to toe), sitting dead in the middle of a table across from each, with their jackets laid across the seats on either side. We asked to sit at the very end of the table and the look the chick threw at us for asking her to move her jacket was epic. They left shortly thereafter. I’ve jammed 12-14 people into one of these tables before. It’s not hard to be friendly.

 

You should tell them to have fun in Germany.

Made it out to Brighton for the first time yesterday before a concert since I enjoyed my first visit to Salem last month. Cool place but I prefer Salem personally. The Loggerhead was good but I'm sure it was better at the Starkbierfest. Got some crowlers to go of Tmavy, Doppelsticke, and Helles Spezial that I'm very excited to try

 

Anyone seen The Standard cans out in the wild, preferably in the Medford/Somerville/Cambridge area?
I didn't see The Standard at Ball Sq FW the other day and I'm running out of Tenner at home.

 

Was already planning to hit Notch on Monday. Looking forward to this one

 

Is this getting released Monday? Before Monday maybe?

Also, forgot to add that when I went Saturday the Rauch Doppelbock, Doppelsticke, and Bock were still all available in bottles.

 

Guess we’ll have to drink what we can this weekend and see if we can get it tapped earlier.

Gotta be almost biere d’alsace time too, right?

Notes: Brewed with Salem’s soft water, floor-malted Czech Pils malt, and a blend of Sterling, Saaz and Sladek hops. Double decocted, open-fermented with extended lagering time. The name pays homage to Czech beer halls that are named after animals, and to the cormorants that live in the South River adjacent to our Salem Biergarten
