So does that mean that Notch went from 1 12 P pale lager (The Standard) to 4 (12th anniversary, Wowee Zowee, and At the Commorants) in their portfolio? Not that I'm complaining.

Ya know…..Northampton would be a GREAT community for Notch…just saying……….

Coopers Corner has been keeping Notch in stock, and always in the cooler.

    I thought dvanackta was excellent

Oh goddamn I'm still thinking about the Mliko pours. Is it possible to have a setup like that at home? Cost prohibitive I'm sure, but I think I need it in my life...

Yeah, I actually just looked at what Lukr faucets cost as I was curious for my homebrew and they’re around $399….

I saw that too. I know nothing about home keg setups... do you think you could do it for $1k?

Was going to mention it when @EnronCFO pointed out At the Cormorants. I like the sneaky draft additions without social media notice. Show up, get a surprise.

Yeah you could. I have a two faucet tower that was a little under $600.

Chris said to expect more golden ales this summer. Quicker turnover than the lagers and good expressions of various traditional hops. Preferred to just brewing XYZ hopped APA. And I’m here for it.

So they're both riffs on Left of the Dial using British malts? And Zero uses American hops, Left uses British ones?

    LESS THAN ZERO
British Golden Ale || 4.3% || Willi Becher
Taste: Light Caramel, Stone Fruit, Earthy
Notes: Celebrating the modest ABV of British IPAs, yet with the passion and stone fruit aromas of US hop varieties, Left of the Dial uses British malt, hard water and a new wave hop profile.

    LEFT OF THE DIAL
    IPA || 4.5% || Willi Becher
    Taste: Passionfruit, Stone Fruit, Hoppy
Notes: A classic British summer-time ale, dry hopped with the British hop First Gold. The opposite of US citrus forward pale ales, this British style is earth and fruity, with hints of apricot. Less than Zero is an anti-fascism song by Elivs Costello.

I think the descriptions are reversed/intermingled here/from the web. Noticed this last night. And they misspelled Elvis.

But apparently more 'golden' in the near future?

I had the read the first one twice to figure it out. The gummy kicking in didn’t help either.

His tap list right is heavy in “traditional styles” right now. Whatever brings in more money…and at the same time leaves plenty of room for what I love.

And the attention they get on this forum is for their lagers. The IPA guys head to the Tree House and Other Half forums.

Hey all, hectic week and we had some cut and paste errors on the Less than Zero. Website is accurate now. Less than Zero uses British First Gold, a hedgerow variety.

To expand on my chat with EnronCFO, the British ales are in place of the dry hopped American beers currently, as they are more interesting to me and they require less tank time as we gear up for summer. This does not impact lager production, which has increased, as we expanded Salem over the winter. Brighton continues to only brew lager (90% Czech) but we are sneaking in a Kolsch next week there.

British beer is mounting a small but noticeable comeback. Four years ago our Mild and Bitter were hard sells, and the knowledge of British beer styles at an all time low (its fairly rare to find new beer consumers that know the differences between Bitter, Best Bitter and ESB). But we are seeing better sales and more interest. Notch will always be lager focused, but if we can offer British beers at the tap rooms now and again, I'll be happy with that. It's what I brewed throughout the 90s, so I'm happy to use that part of my brain again.

Also, shout out to our lead brewers Anna and July. I've been on the disabled list for awhile (knee surgery), and they are putting out consistently stellar beer. The Bock is Anna's creation, and July has a Rotbier on the way in May.
