The latest batch of Poetic Hustler is fantastic. Smells like straight pineapple juice, but tastes more like a white wine.

I didn't go for this dinner or the bottles (just have too much beer), but I think doing a dinner type thing is great, he got the collaboration brewer in, seems like a cool thing. Especially since...

There appeared to be plenty in the normal sale for people who wanted to get it without having to hire a bunch of bots, etc.

People love to dump on Mikerphone, (me included sometimes) and sometimes it's warranted. But Rev does things like this all the time with deep woods series and nobody craps on them for it. Nor should they. Hosting events like this and tying a portion (but far from all) of their yield for a said beer is a good thing IMO.

I liked Black Honey more than the new Sir Blends but was hoping for more with each.

I was the opposite. Black Honey was much too sweet for me. I thought Sir Blends was solid but not close to b1. Hoped for more on both.

Two collab beers with Goose Island coming soon in 16oz cans, called “Double LP”

Side 1: At Goose Island they made a BA maple stout

Side 2: At Mikerphone they made a BA barleywine

Mike pouring Side 2 at the Tripping Animals fest this weekend.

grabbed the last bottle of Binnys Brunch at Geneva today. i havent seen it there the last couple visits so I either missed it or they pulled some more out of the back. excited to give it a whirl, i haven't had a solid BA Mikerphone in a while and the reviews look incredibly promising.

his 4packs though. man they are just collecting dust i never see anybody making a dent in them. how things have changed...

I’ll say 2 things and I really don’t mean them as a Mikerphone apologist. I go back to the limited bottles of ipa at the bottle shops and such. The Binny’s beer is just fantastic (based on a draft pour). As for the cans, I think it’s worth mentioning Mikerphone’s prices have come in line with the market. Are some gathering dust? I’m sure. But the routine $20 4 pack is over thankfully

So I tried all 3 of Mikerphone's most recent BA beers, and these are my 2 cents:

    - Sir Blends A Lot b2 was decent, but kind of disappointing. I can't really explain why, it just wasn't impressive in any way.

    - Lost in Shadows was really good, not quite great. I would gladly buy another.

    - Black Honey was surprisingly good. Pretty sweet, although the honey flavor was complementing the barrel and not overpowering it. I'm really glad I tried this one. It was my favorite of the three.
