It seems like an inevitability honestly. The facility is massive. I know that it has become a staple at my one local source. Pliny or blind pig is always on tap and a slew of bottles are always in the cooler.

And, as to the OP, what they described sounds more extreme than what I've encountered but RR beers definitely sit in a way that I've never seen before. I have absolutely seen 90 day old pliny on shelves. To their credit, they seem to help accounts manage ordering volume better than any other brewery I've seen. But expansion to, at least, select accounts in Washington seems inevitable

Visited a few cities on the coast earlier this month and was really pleased how easy it was to find some Pliny around. Vice the last time I visited 4 years ago, it took real effort to track down a bottle. The ones I found this time were around 3-ish weeks old, no complaints here.

In California we just convert our gas tanks to run on IPA. Pliny is cheaper and more plentiful than gas now.

I love Pliny but there is an abundance of great IPAs readily available. The same is true for many other beer styles too. So, for me my days of obsessing for any particular beer are long over for the most part. That's a good thing and I don't think I'm alone in that mindset when I look at what's currently on the shelves of my local beer stores/breweries.

Haven't they always bottled Blind Pig? Or did you mean canning?

In any case, it seems to me they'd be better off expanding to other states and reducing the supply in CA. But I don't know anything about business.

My mistake. You're right, I meant canning.

Always check for can or bottle dates. No have, no buy.

Having trouble finding the right thread....maybe this can be well received here....My girlfriend is heading to the San Jose area for a week next week. Any places in particular I should have her check for Pliny and Pig? Thanks so much!

I don’t have any San Jose knowledge, just wanted to say don’t sleep on Happy Hops if RR beers are a priority. It’s worthy.

I would think just about any Whole Foods will have PtE. Not sure about cans of blind pig.

There is no shortage of stores carrying these in the San Jose area. Most any liquor stores that have decent beer selection have it.
Also many Whole Foods, New Leaf market etc.

I thought New Leaf markets were almost entirely a Santa Cruz country phenomena, but sure enough, I see there's one in San Jose now as well. It really has been a long time since I moved out of the NorCal area.

I think it might also be part of an Oregon chain too. Something Seasons Market? Could be wrong. (Probably am wrong)

We do have a New Season's Market, but I wasn't aware that it was connected in any way with New Leaf. The store layouts at New Seasons seem very different from the New Leaf Markets I've gone to in Santa Cruz.

They do tend to have a good beer selection, but that's fairly typical of pretty much all grocery stores in the NW.
