Screw it. It is time to start Earth Day, 2022. I had a few thoughts ending the last thread and wanted to post them here. And to start the day , I am having another Day Time by Lagunitas.

Welcome earth day. I feel my gen tried but did not do enough. We spoke up but perhaps not loud enough and we chose how to spend but perhaps not wisely enough to shape the course we are on and for that I am sorry. I have hope our kids will use their talent and strength to a greater extent to help themselves and the earth.

Currently drinking a couple upslope brewing rocky mountain kolsch cans. They don't really taste like a kolsch but I gotta say they're pretty interesting. It's light honey sweet and super floral and hoppy, but not exaggerated in the sage and honey they added.

And for earthday I coincidentally just wrote a research paper about recycling and some of the stuff I found is just disappointing to be honest. In denver a lot of glass that is recycled is used as landfill liner material so it does in fact still end up in landfills. And contaminated single stream runs the risk of ruining whole loads if it's too bad and it all ends up in the dump anyways.

    I want shit to change!

Dale's Pale Ale, having winged its way from VA to Oz courtesy of @TurkeysDrinkBeer. Thanks buddy!

As for Earth Day, I'm not sure which generation @barneyrubble is referring to, but as a bonafide Gen Xer I am confident that human ingenuity will see us right. We mightn't have solved the problem, and probably contributed to it, but the advances civilisation has made over the last century were never going to come for free. I'm happy that most of us live comfortable lives free from want as a result, but I'm also happy, and confident, that the younger generations are taking the problem seriously.

    Cheers!

I have been exploring some little-known parts of Greece. Most people think Greece is just Athens and the island but I personally enjoy the northern, mountainous regions more.

Not many cities can claim to have a waterfall right in the middle of their downtown. This is Edessa.

Naturally, I'm going for a Greek beer this time. Opting for Nymfi, by the Athenian brewery, a hoppy lager (also listed as an IPL) made with 5 unnamed hops. Very enjoyable.

Very jealous! My father-in-law is Greek, and he'd paid for us to travel to his home island in Greece with him in mid 2020. Of course the universe intervened - I was diagnosed with cancer, he broke his neck, and a certain pandemic showed up.

    Timing is everything!

    Cheers!

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope that you all can make this trip happen sometime soon. Lots of great places and (surprisingly, beers) to experience.

Also I'm glad you have a Greek father-in-law and not a Greek mother-in-law. I've heard they are a force to be reckoned with.

    Kirki - Pikri IPA

Moving onto something more hoppy, with this IPA named quite simply Pikri (Greek for "Bitter"). Very nicely balanced.

Wow, this takes me back a few years! Have not had a Nymfi in quite some time. What a beautiful country to visit! I was very fortunate to visit the city of Chania on a work trip a few years back and spent two wonderful weeks immersing myself in the local culture. Some of the most friendly people I have ever interacted with live there. The food alone is worth going back for! Thanks for sharing the photos, cheers!

Good morning BAs! Thanks @barneyrubble for getting us going today. A beautiful cool 68° and sunny walk with the dogs through the neighborhood, feeding and kitchen chores done…I’m ready for some coffee - KBS Hazelnut:

Bottled 1/27/22. Poured at 52°. I really like this nutty coffee stout. Otherwise, not much going on today. Mild (for us) mid 80s no rain forecast all weekend/next week. Happy Earth Day y’all and Cheers!

Fantastic pictures! You are making me very excited for our trip to Europe in June/July. We will be heading to France, Germany, Belgium, and possibly Spain. Hope to meet up with some BAs over there!

Freakin bummer! Came to my local seafood place for lunch. One of the few places around I can order an Allagash White, which goes perfectly with seafood. They stopped carrying it! I asked the owner and I was practically the only one ordering it. He loves it too but couldn't move it. Thankfully they have Creature Comforts Tropicalia. Here's typical selection.

While I am sipping some coffee, I am glad to report the wind gust forecast just got a whole lot better and they might get 6 to 12 inches of snow in some parts of the mountains. Nothing here though still hot and dry.
