    Happy Monday BA!

    Today is the ANZAC Day public holiday across Australia, celebrating, of all things, a military disaster (ANZAC stands for the Australia New Zealand Army Corps)... Back in1914 we stormed the shores of the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey in a misguided attempt to open a third front against Germany in World War I. About nine months later we slinked off, beaten but unbowed, and determined to terrorise the Germans in the main game on the Western Front. Side note: it was actually the Aussies that breached the Hindenburg Line back in 1918, but we don't seem to have gotten the credit for it. Anyway, oddly enough, and in a great show of Aussie awesomeness, we became firm friends with Turkey in the aftermath, and they were always welcome at our ANZAC Day celebrations, and we at theirs.

    The beer is quite proper for today too, as it celebrates the Maremma dogs that guard the Fairy Penguin colonies in Warrnambool on the south coast of Victoria, about 2.5 hours west of here. It's a 3.5% ABV mid-strength ale, which is also a growing segment of the beer market over here.

    Anyway, in honour of all things Australian, I present you Up There Cazaly, the 1979 Victorian Football League anthem, showing the glory days of 1970s football: sideburns, cigarettes and old codgers drinking tins in the strands in all their glory. And as another side note, "up there, Cazaly!" was a term shouted at the footy back in the early 1900s, in honour of one of the players, and was apparently used by the Aussies as a rallying cry in World War I too.     Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting today's thread! Got a big pile of branches and leaves burned yesterday and dicked around in the garage opening yucca seed-pods and collecting the seeds for future distribution along the railroad tracks. Although today doesn't seem as warm as yesterday, looks like a good day to work on the lawn mower. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Yep, filmed on location in Warrnambool too. The guy who starred in that is in a classic Aussie move called Kenny, which is about a toilet technician. Give it a look of you ever get a chance, but probably not with the kiddos!

    Flight back home got cancelled due to tech issues and the airline rerouted us via Iceland. The layover is super short so my only chance to drink a local brew would be onboard.

    Happy I am drinking this cellar beer, sad that it has returned to Cellar Beer weather (Freeze advisory for the overnight) after a nice two day weekend. Only lasted a few minutes on the porch, my cold tolerance has dropped considerably this past year.

    It's very unique in its own way, hard to describe, apricots/nectarine kind of background flavor?
    It's very quaffable, I enjoy it very much.
