    Goldfinger Original Lager (Helles). Probably my last of the day. A great one to end on. One of the best Helles around and that's legit high praise given the high pedigree of lager in the Chicagoland area. Damn. Cheers BA.

    Sorry to hear about the tooth. I had two molars pulled a number of years ago. Both teeth abscessed so root canals were done. Unfortunately, both teeth died a few years later and had to be yanked. I got two bridges now.

    Yep, similar Mike. The "molar" was the back tooth of a 4 tooth bridge, the tooth base underneath it decayed and the molar broke off, leaving the tooth base that was not repairable. Cheers to aging!!

    A beer so big and chewy you can take a bite out of it -- well, it certainly seems like you could. And it's delicious enough that you probably wish you could. The heavy, dark malt sweetness plus the vanilla and cacao nibs is put together very nicely. I didn't get a whole lot of the pistachio presence (some, but not a lot). I also appreciate this one not being barrel aged (although I'd certainly try a version if there is one). The beer is big enough as is without needing additional flavoring techniques. Regardless, this is certainly one to try if you're a fan of big stouts.
