I don’t like to brag but I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting her in person thanks to @DoctorZombies. She’s a really nice person.

 

Central Waters BBA Pecan Kringle Imperial Pastry Stout, 12.3% ABV. Literally a pastry stout. As usual with stouts, letting it warm. I'm impatient tonight.

 

Jai Alai while rain-x'ing the windshield and replacing blades on the ole 91 Mustang. When the hell did wiper blades jump to $21.99 - $42.99 each???

Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: A battle of Chicago Hazy IPAs and a few Oktoberfests...

1) Ayinger Festbier 2021 (5.8%): A German festbier that has authentic German hop and malt flavors hops and spices atop toasty, caramel bready malts.
versus
2) Surly Oktoberfest 2021 (6.0%): A festbier from Minnesota that has flavors of toasted bread with lemonflower hops and honey malt flavors.

3) Goose Island Hazy Beer Hug (6.8%): A hazy IPA from Chicago with flavors of peaches, white grapes, and grapefruit citrus.

4) Revolution Brewing Hazy-Hero (7.3%): A hazy IPA from Chicago that has flavors of pineapple, orange, mango, and passionfruit.

Winners:

2) Surly Oktoberfest: Probably less authentic, but at 6+ months old, anything goes. It maintains nice lemonflower hop flavors better. Reminds me of their Hell Lager on steroids. A favorite of the season.

3) Goose Island Hazy Beer Hug: I am usually disappointed by Goose Island IPAs, but this one surprisingly came through. Nice peach and grape flavors. Hazy-Hero has grown on me, but Goose Island wins this time.

We had some hellacious thunderstorms late this afternoon. Hail in some parts.

 

Bourbon and Little Sip. Excellent combination. I am jealous!

 

Equilibrium/Homage collab - Intergalactic Prism



@superspak put me in the mood for some corned beef. I cooked this in two bottles of Spencer Vienna Lager, fork tender, no knife required. Cooked in in my Instant pot as I described in an earlier post.



Always remember to clean the little drip catcher on the Instant Pot - it's easy to forget to do it but it will get real funky if you don't.



I haven't had to tune this guitar once, it just stays in perfect tune.

 

Campsite beer! Elevation makes a legit barleywine and it works/tastes better than Tylenol. Sticky barrel goodness after a day on the dunes and a bumpy afternoon drive to the short icy trek up Zapata Falls.

 

I got extra Ayinger last fall, as I usually end up wishing for more. Drank the last one about 6 weeks ago, or tried to. Couldn't finish it . I'd estimate that late January to mid-February is the limit on that one.

Holla @Roy_Hobbs for this one from his beatings during NBS BIF #15, Fox Farm Quiet Fire, a Czech style Amber Lager. It's quite a nice beer.
