Gordon Ramsay should be ashamed

I’m genuinely surprised by all the hate for Gordon Ramsey. Personally, I’m a huge fan. He is technically proficient, and I love watching chef’s that are amazing at their craft. He always has been too. He started earning stars when he was like 20. He’s a talented guy.

Also, he’s not always an asshole on all of his shows. Has no one seen Master Chef? He’s virtually only nurturing on that show, and I love his persona there.

I truthfully could not even tell you. I woke up for a minute in the back seat and was looking up at the streetlights of the Atlantic city expressway. Then it was the next morning. Cheers to that person for getting me home.

He doesn't like beer, you don't need to care.

Plus, I wonder if/how much he's actually involved in something like this? Maybe he just took the check for licensing his name, sat in on a few meetings to discuss the 'concept" and menu, and makes sure the residuals hit his account in a timely manner?

Thate exactly what most Chefs that become a personality are. Came shit with Majordomo out in LA .. usually Yelp is a big help. Sort reviews by lowest rating

More like $14 & $11.50, depending on exchange rates.

    Nevermind the Petrus and Dom?

Glad the server got his tip in there.

This is what I always assume when there's a celebrity chef involved, unless proven otherwise.

"They drove a dump truck of money up to my house. I'm not made of stone!"

I'd be ordering water. Head to a local brewery afterwards.

If I'm going to Vegas and getting burgers....take out IN-N-OUT and supply my own beer.
If I wanted the restaurant experience, I think the prices in Vegas are just what they are. I checked out the beer menu at Ramsay's and at least it seemed decent....Stone, Deschutes, Unibroue, Firestone Walker, Brooklyn along with the usual line up.

I enjoy watching Gordon (Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, even Master Chef Jr. where he has a totally different personality), and my family loves him--which is why they are so excited to go to a restaurant with his name. Personally, I agree with others that I'm happy just ordering some water than hitting one of the local craft breweries away from the strip. However, my wife is not of the same mindset with these kinds of things. She'll say "we're there to have fun--so don't you dare say anything about costs that makes anyone feel bad!" She'll even tell me if I order water, others will feel bad ordering expensive drinks, so she'll ask me to get something just so everyone else feels free to order what they want. And that's why I know I'm going to be paying $11-$15 per beer and probably $20+ for cocktails.

Thanks for all the recommendations for local spots. If I can get the group away from the strip, I will!

I try to plan out ahead of time how much we’ll spend - and I try to do that from a very honest perspective, not what I hope. That honesty comes from a place of not just what we want to do, but what I know we will want to do. My point being that then I don’t have to think too much about what is being spent. Will I still make these decisions on the spot (“oh, do I want to spend $12 on a beer?”), yep, but these usually pale in comparison to more expensive choices. Also, I know that my wife gets more enjoyment out of drinks from out than I do, so I almost always have (and will) foregone these items for my wife. -And I want her to! Sometimes I say to myself that I am grumbly that I just spent that money, but then I see how happy she is. I once spent $50ish on 3 blue moons at a concert for her. She loved it! She was having the best time. Worth every bit of that even if it was a grumbly experience some of the time for me.

Maybe he does like beer, likes it so much he wants a lot of money to part with the stuff he bought wholesale and now owns?

I'm still mad at Ronald McDonald because he dropped the Orange Drink from his menu. And that little Dutch Boy better get his house in order - that gallon of paint I bought did not match the color on the swatch at all. And don't get me started on that !@#$, Betty Crocker!

I have never been to Vegas simply because besides people watching and/or seeing the architecture nothing else there is my thing (nor my wife’s). I’m more into flying directly into Vegas as a cheaper airport hub, getting a rental car, hitting a beer store that offers good craft beers, and heading out into Southern Utah National Parks. Maybe stay 1 night in Vegas as a pitstop coming and going but that is it.

Again, a relatively small price to keep the wife happy. Completely serious.
