But literally none of that has anything to do with Three Floyds.

When production increases while shelf space decreases because local breweries everywhere are selling their own wares that are at least halfway decent if not just as good in their own right, people aren't going to be buying cases of hops just because they used to have trouble getting it 10 years ago.

Yeah 2017 was a beautiful day. 2018 was pretty good too, just slightly cooler but no rain.

2007, 2010, 2011, 2013 were all great weather as well.

The cold and rainy weather had the benefit of keeping the crowd oriented towards beer fans. Once they opened up that summer warm weather crap the fest started to look like lalapaloozo.

What's funny is I killed myself getting to track down ZD back when it sold out instantly at Binny's, decided it wasn't worth chasing (there were other bigger Citra beers I preferred) and moved on from it.

Now that everything is crazy over-hopped, I've actually found a new fondness for how easily drinkable ZD is, and have been pleasantly surprised how easy all the FFF stuff has been to get in distro.

Also, I'd kill for DL and variants to hit distro, because I'm getting lazy in my old age.

Hell I thought everything was over hopped in the other direction during the time ZD was a hard to get ahold of. Nothing like scrubbing your palate with burning pine tar.

I’m digging Rites of Rahm. Reminds me of Alpha King crossed with Pride n’ Joy.

and at 5% it’s nice to have an easy drinker

That actually sounds right up my alley. Wonder if its hitting MI? Also anyone know if P&J 3000 is coming out again this year?

First time posting in this thread, so I apologize if something similar has been discussed.

I was buying beer today and noticed the 3+ month old Zombie Dust in the cooler had an interesting "addition" to the box:

A completely black strip where the dates used to be printed. It was on all the ZD six packs I saw in the cooler, but not on any of the other 3F beers I saw.

Is this a new 3F trend or should I send that to someone? Seems like a really shitty sales tactic. Unfortunately I couldn't find anyone to ask about it (it's basically a giant liquor store).

I've seen them like that too.

Ironically if I don't know the date I won't buy it

Are there dates on the cans? I could see
If they dated more of the box stock than they used and didn’t want to waste the excess boxes, but if they were purposefully obscuring old dates that would be a major deal…I would reach out. That being said, if the cans are dated that would be most accurare

edit: upon re-read it sounds like you bought these from an unscrupulous retailer not the brewpub. I would definitely alert FFF to this and they can have it out with their distributor and retailer.

These are also up here in the UP of Michigan. The latest batch of Speed Castle also doesn't have a date on the box. SC was canned on 4/20 though so no hiding old dates there.

    I should clarify:

I didn't purchase the cans. I already knew they were pushing 4 months old. But I noticed the blacked out date on the box while getting something else out of the same cooler and I thought I was going crazy. So I checked the others and it was the same thing.

Disappointing behavior, to say the least.

The non dated ones I've seen have been at Kroger as well as good bottle shops. Seems like a FFF thing because it doesn't appear the date has been tampered with, just was never printed
